With the right support, you can take steps to put an LPA in place without necessarily needing to instruct a solicitor.

Age Cymru West Glamorgan offers a FREE consultation to help adults over 50 and living in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend understand the process, explore their options and get started.

An LPA allows you to choose one or more trusted people to make decisions on your behalf if you’re ever unable to do so yourself. Planning ahead helps ensure your wishes are considered and the people you trust can support you when it matters most.

💙 Wellbeing is for everyone!

Although The Wellbeing Studio is a service run by Age Cymru West Glamorgan, you don’t have to be over 50 to enjoy what we offer. Anyone aged 18 and over is welcome to book an appointment, with treatments available for both men and women.

From hand and foot care to a little time dedicated to yourself, our welcoming studio offers a comfortable space to focus on your wellbeing.

Who would make decisions for you if you couldn’t?

It’s something many of us don’t think about until we have to.

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to choose one or more trusted people to make decisions on your behalf if you’re unable to do so yourself because of illness, an accident or loss of capacity.

There are two types of LPA:

🏡 Property & Financial Affairs – covering things such as bank accounts, bills, benefits and property.

💙 Health & Welfare – covering decisions about your care, medical treatment and where you live.

Having an LPA in place means you can decide who you trust to support you and make decisions in line with your wishes.

Without one, your loved ones may face a more complex process if they need to manage your affairs.

Age Cymru West Glamorgan offers support to adults living in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend, helping you understand the process, choose your attorneys and get your LPA in place.

Our Warm Homes Project provides free Home Energy Checks for older people, helping you find practical ways to make your home warmer and use energy more efficiently.

During a visit, our trained handyperson can:

💡 Install free energy-saving items, including LED light bulbs
🔥 Fit reflective radiator panels to help your heating work more efficiently
💬 Talk through your home energy needs and offer practical advice

There’s no cost for the Home Energy Check, and it’s designed to help you feel more comfortable and confident in your home.

It’s here! The Wellbeing Studio has officially launched today 💚

Created by Age Cymru West Glamorgan, The Wellbeing Studio is a new space in Swansea offering professional beauty and wellbeing appointments in a private, one-to-one setting, with quality, comfort and choice built into every visit.

From manicures, pedicures and hand and foot care to massage and relaxation, it’s all about taking a little time for you – whether that means a good chat, a quiet moment or simply enjoying being looked after.

And this is only the beginning. We’ll be listening to our clients and growing the Studio with new appointments and experiences over time.
