Introducing the Robert Francis Davies Award 💛

Swansea Bay Foundation is proud to announce a special £1,500 grant in memory of Robert Francis Davies, a founding board member of our charity who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Robert helped establish the Foundation, and this award will honour his memory by supporting a local charity making a difference in our communities.

Alongside our usual grants of up to £500, one applicant charity will be selected by our current board of trustees to receive the £1,500 award. They will choose a charity whose work they feel Robert would have particularly wanted to support.

It’s a heartfelt tribute to Robert, helping his legacy continue through the people and communities the Foundation supports.

Applications are open now and close on 8 November 2026.

Remembering Robert Francis Davies 💛

As part of our current grant round, Swansea Bay Foundation will be introducing a special award in memory of Robert Francis Davies, a founding board member of our charity who sadly passed away earlier this year.

The Robert Francis Davies Award will honour his connection to the Foundation by supporting a local charity whose work our trustees feel he would have been especially keen to champion.

It’s a meaningful way for us to remember Robert and help his legacy continue through support for our communities. We’ll reveal the full details at the end of this week.

What could £500 help your community achieve? 💛

Our latest grant round is open, offering grants of up to £500 for voluntary-led community initiatives across the Swansea Bay region.

Tell us what you do, who your work supports and the difference this funding could make. We know that a small grant can mean a great deal to the people working hard for their communities.

Alongside this round, we’ll also be introducing the Robert Francis Davies Award - a special tribute to one of Swansea Bay Foundation’s founding board members. More details are coming later this week.

If you’re bringing people together, supporting others or making a difference in your community, we’d love to hear about your work and how a grant could help.

A huge thank you to Lowri Davies and the Customer Loyalty Swansea team at Admiral Swansea for their generous donation of £235 to Swansea Bay Foundation.

It was lovely for Dawn (Chair of Swansea Bay Foundation) and Zoe (Trustee) to welcome Lowri, Declan and Jay last week and share more about the community initiatives being supported through the Foundation. Their donation will help support initiatives that make a real difference for local children, families and communities.
