Matt's Cafe Helping Matthew's house to be a pillar of hospitality and hope in the heart of Swansea. Matt’s Cafe is the first registered café on the TRJF network in Swansea.

Matt’s Cafe is part of the Real Junk Food (TRJF) Project, a network of national and international cafes (both permanent and pop-ups) with one central objective: to intercept food waste destined for land fill and use it to feed people who need it, on a pay as you feel basis. The Swans Big Sleep Out is now just three weeks away and it is the biggest fundraiser of the year!

It was an absolute pleasure to have Swansea City Football Club’s Josh Keys and Andy Fisher with us at Matthew's House Swansea recently.

Here, alongside Team Member Andrew, the guys explain why it is such an important event.

The raised over £46,000 last year for both Matthew's House and the Swansea City AFC Foundation, with funds supporting the vital work both organisations do.

On Friday 13th November, we'll be heading to the Swansea.com Stadium for an evening of talks, meet & greets, entertainment and food. All before settling in our sleeping bags on the concrete to raise awareness of homelessness across the city.

One night is in no way the same as the struggles faced by many. However, we hope by raising awareness and funds, we can continue to help Swansea's most vulnerable people as much as possible.

Meet Andrew! He popped into Matthew's House Swansea this afternoon for a tour of the project and to tell us all about his upcoming fundraiser - it's quite the challenge! 😮

Starting on Monday, Andrew will leave Swansea for five days of walking, heading west and eventually finishing at Saint David's Cathedral, Pembrokeshire on Friday! That's a distance of roughly 67 miles! Not only is he hoping to raise awareness of homelessness, he is also collecting donations that will directly support the work we do at Matthew's House. What a legend! 💪🏻

Andrew says, 'I am fortunate to have the means for safe, warm and dry lodgings on my journey. But not everyone in life is so fortunate.

Homelessness is a complex issue that affects millions across the world - including our own City of Swansea - an issue which requires attention and compassionate action.

So through my walk, I am trying to raise both awareness of homelessness and money that can be put to compassionate use.'

We know you'll all join us in wishing Andrew the best of luck as he takes on this mammoth task. The entire team at MH is so inspired by his support and we're looking forward to receiving daily updates from him along the route. 🥾

They give so much to Matt’s Cafe, plus all our other projects and we are so grateful for all the hard work and effort they put in. ❤️

Ellie celebrates an incredible 9 years with us and is a proper Matt’s OG! 🏆

Sean, Christine, Phil and Tasha have all hit the half-year mark and we are looking forward to having them with us for a long, long time.

This is a bit exciting! 🤩

You may remember we recently announced that we'd been chosen as Delta Hotels by Marriott Swansea's Charity of The Year. Well, now it's official and we are delighted to share an incredible event taking place in February!

In 2027, Matthew's House Swansea turns ten years old! That's a decade of being a lifeline for some of the city's most vulnerable people, delivering hope and hospitality when needed.

As we reflect on ten years of the project and look forward to the future, Delta Hotels by Marriott Swansea have generously offered to host a gala dinner on our behalf and we could not be more grateful to the team. ❤️

It’s going to be a massive celebration of the city’s incredible community spirit and we'd love you to be there! 🥳

The evening includes:

A welcome drink to kick things off

Say hello to another fantastic little fundraiser!

It was a pleasure to welcome Axl to Matthew’s House this week. He popped in to drop off an awesome £115, that he’d raised for our project by painting pebbles and selling them! 🤩

During a tour of the building, we asked why he’d chosen Matthew’s House and Axl said he ‘wanted to help homeless people have a better life.’ ❤️

Axl, we can’t thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. We think you’re an absolute star! 🌟

We hope to have you volunteering with us once you’re old enough. 😊

The Swans Big Sleep Out 2026 at the Swansea.com Stadium is happening on Friday 13th November and we’re looking for THREE more businesses to sponsor this incredible event.

Last year we raised over £46,000 for Matthew's House Swansea and the Swansea City AFC Foundation. It’s our single biggest fundraiser of the year and is always an evening filled with fun, friendship and the impact goes far beyond the money raised.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Swansea City Football Club's Josh Keys and Andy Fisher with us at Matthew's House Swansea yesterday!

The guys were on-site to film some promotional content ahead of our upcoming fundraiser 'The Swans Big Sleepout' at the Swansea.com Stadium. Apart from filming, both Josh and Andy rolled up their sleeves and helped with donation sorting, dishes and making tea for our volunteers! We hope they enjoyed as much as we did! Thanks lads! 🙏🏼

Our stock of men’s underwear is looking a bit pants! Can you help? 🙏🏼

Every Tuesday at Matt’s Cafe, we distribute Dignity Packs to those that need them. These packs contain essential items such as pants, socks, toothpaste, deodorant, sanitary items and more! 🧦

Last Tuesday, we gave a record number of dignity packs out - 56 in total! With the majority given to our male guests.

We have now completely run out of sizes medium, large and XL in men’s underwear and really need to replenish before next week.

Can you donate? If you’re able to pick up a pack or two when doing your big shop or even arrange for some to be delivered to us via Amazon, we’d really appreciate it! ❤️

Items can be dropped off to us or delivered between 8am and 3pm on weekdays, and between 3pm and 8pm on Sunday.

A huge thank you to anyone that has supported us by donating in the past. Your kindness is always appreciated and truly makes a difference to those that visit Matthew’s House.

(Please note we can only accept new, unused underwear)
