The days between Christmas and New Year can feel a bit strange. The presents are open, the routine's gone, and everyone's starting to get restless. If you're looking for something calm to do together, come and spend an hour with us.

On Wednesday 30 December we're running Festive Animal Encounters in the Potting Shed at Founders & Co, Wind Street, Swansea.

You'll meet around 6 to 8 of our animal ambassadors. That might include owls (Merlin may well be there), snakes, lizards, tarantulas and small mammals. We'll talk about how they live and what makes them so well suited to their world, and there'll be chances to see them up close and handle some of them. Our team guides every interaction, and each animal's welfare and choice always comes first, so who comes along on the day depends on how they're feeling.

Session times:
10am
11:15am
1pm
2:15pm

Each session lasts an hour.

A few things to know:
• Tickets are £8 per person, plus booking fees
• Everyone taking part needs a ticket, adults and children
• Each session has a maximum of 20 people, so it stays relaxed for everyone, animals included
• Adults who'd rather not join in don't need a ticket and are welcome to watch through the window from inside Founders & Co
• Please arrive a few minutes early, as sessions start and finish on time
• Tickets are non-refundable, but you can pass them on to someone else. Just let us know in writing before the day

Our Halloween sessions sold out, so if you're hoping to come, it's worth booking sooner rather than later.

Christmas jumpers are very welcome.

Thistle is judging me. And honestly, fair enough.

If you've messaged recently and are still waiting for a reply, I'm so sorry. Behind the scenes it's just me answering messages, fitted in around being out on sessions, caring for the animals and trying to keep everything else ticking along.

Half term is always one of our busiest weeks, so I've fallen quite a bit behind. I promise I haven't forgotten you. I'm working through everything in order and will get back to you as soon as I can.

Until someone works out how to add a few extra hours to the day, thank you for bearing with me. Thistle will keep an eye on my progress, as you can see.

We absolutely love meeting you all! Thanks so much for having us! 😀

What’s the first thing you’d ask about this animal?

It can be anything. What they eat, where they live, whether they’re friendly, or the question you think might sound silly.

We get some of our best conversations from the questions nobody was quite sure they should ask. Leave yours below and we’ll answer a few this week.
