Updated ⚜️ (still got a load from the 60s sort through)

A little while ago, we were reunited with the original Wolf Head that belonged to our group 🐺⚜️
It's not in the best condition, but we are determined to restore it to its former glory, display it, and bring it back into use at its home with the 42nd Swansea (Fforestfach) Scout Group.
The task of disentangling all the tags is still ongoing, but here is a batch added back in the 1970s!
While we recognise a few names, we would love to know more about everyone who was part of our Scout group back then. Do you recognise any of these names? Let us know or tag them in the comments below! 👇

The big outdoor overhaul has officially begun! 🌿🪵

For a while now, we’ve looked at our outside grounds knowing we just weren't making the most of all that brilliant space. With so much ground to look after, keeping on top of it is no small task—and our tired, unsecure boundary fencing was making it tough to use the area safely for our young people.

We decided enough was enough: transforming our outdoor space had to go right to the top of our priority list. 📋✨

We set out on a mission to hunt down funding and put in bids to get the ball rolling. We were lucky to secure money from The Swansea Bay Foundation which meant we could start clearing the area ready for work and then the brilliant local ward councillors Elliott King, Mike Durke and Councillor Oliver James kindly came down to visit and met with Duggee our Group Lead Volunteer. After seeing firsthand what we do and what we needed, they stepped up and agreed to fund the most urgent piece of the puzzle: replacing our boundary fence. Duggee was speechless (which in itself is a shocker!) We can't thank them enough for backing our group and championing local youth facilities. We are looking forward to working with them in the future to offer outdoor experiences to more people 🙌

Having that money secured, brought us to the fantastic team at Gowerton fencing. From start to finish, they have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient, their workmanship fantastic. Our site is now secure, smart, and safe for all our young people, leaders, and community visitors.

This new boundary fence is only phase one of our outdoor transformation, but what a way to kick things off!

A massive thank you to our councillors for making the funding possible, and huge appreciation to Gowerton Fencing for doing such a cracking job. If you ever need fencing work done, we cannot recommend them highly enough! 👏

Diolch yn fawr iawn! 💚

How has it been a week since All Wales Scout Camp? As usual we had a ball!

It's a busy weekend but us leaders are always so amazed with how the young people throw themselves into the chaos of the event.

It was fantastic to see everyone throwing some shapes on the dance floor on the Saturday and we are happy to say we are an award winning Scout Group as we came second in the quiz!

Thank you to our leaders and young leaders who made sure that the Scouts got to where they needed to be on time and the logistics before and after the event and to the Scouts themselves for their enthusiasm and energy ... regardless of what time of day it was!!

Thank you to the team at ScoutsCymru and the wider volunteer crew for another epic event! We will definitely see you in 2028

Here is a short round up video of our experience!
