Today we’re recognising and celebrating Mr Julian Lovell, who is stepping down as a Faith in Families Trustee after years of steady support, guidance and care.

A retired teacher, Julian has brought wisdom, fairness and a huge amount of experience to Faith in Families. As Chair of our Personnel Sub-Committee, he has helped guide the charity through important decisions with calm, care and good governance at the heart of everything.

Julian also played an important role during the building phase of our first purpose-built family centre at St John’s in Brecon, helping keep the project focused, on budget and moving forward.

Trustees often work quietly behind the scenes, but their impact can be felt across the whole charity. Julian has helped strengthen Faith in Families and support the foundations that allow us to keep showing up for children, families and communities.

We are still over the moon to have won the Making A Difference Award sponsored by Bevan Buckland at the Au Vodka Swansea Life Awards 2026.

This award is not just for us. It represents every child, every family, every parent, every carer, every person who has ever walked through our doors, trusted us, cried with us, laughed with us, and let us be part of their story.

WOW, how has it already been a week since we won the Making A Difference Award at the Au Vodka Swansea Life Awards 2026? 🧡

It was such a special night for Faith in Families, celebrating alongside so many brilliant people and organisations doing incredible things across Swansea.

A huge thank you to Swansea Life and JR Events & Catering for a wonderful evening, and to AU Vodka for supporting such a fantastic celebration of our city.

We’d also like to say a very sincere thank you to Bevan Buckland, sponsors of the Making A Difference Award. Their support helped shine a light on the work happening in communities across Swansea, and we were so proud to be recognised in this category.

We also want to send our love and thoughts to everyone at Bevan Buckland following the loss of their much-loved colleague, Alison Vickers. We are thinking of her family, friends, and all who knew and worked alongside her. An inspirational woman.

Faith in Families is proud to share that Cwtch Mawr Multibank Wales’ only Multibank, is expanding its reach across Wales with support from Welsh Government

Created in partnership with The Multibank UK and Amazong Cwtch Mawr has already distributed more than 1,347,792 brand-new essential items through 157 charity and community partners, helping children, families and people facing hardship access support quickly and with dignity.

What began as a Swansea idea is now growing into a wider Welsh network of support, with work already underway in Bridgend, developing partnerships in Carmarthenshire and Wrexham, and conversations taking place in Cardiff.

This is surplus turned into support.
This is sustainability with people at the centre.
This is Hugs Not Handouts.

A huge thank you to the brilliant team at Nando’s Parc Fforestfach, who very kindly donated and delivered food for our volunteer celebration event.

Our volunteers give so much of their time, energy and kindness to children and families across Swansea Bay, so being able to treat them to some proper tasty food felt really special.

And let’s be honest, nothing says “we appreciate you” quite like a table full of Nando’s. 😍

We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Children's Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team in Swansea.

🚨 URGENT APPEAL, CAN YOU HELP BY THIS FRIDAY? 🌱💙

This Friday, we’re holding a Community Gardening Day at Teilo’s Community Cwtch, 10am – 2pm, with volunteers from a local business coming along to help tidy, plant, repair and brighten our much-loved community space.

But because the day has come around very quickly, we’re urgently looking for donations of gardening supplies to help make it happen.

We’re looking for:

🌸 Plants and flowers
🌱 Compost and soil
🧤 Gardening gloves
🛠 Gardening tools
🪵 Fencing panels or repair materials
🎨 Outdoor decorations or anything to brighten the space

Every donated item will help create a safer, brighter and more welcoming outdoor area for local children, families and residents to enjoy.
