Thirsty Thursday

Thirsty Thursday Thirsty Thursday is an award-winning FREE informal network group for Stokesley businesses.Run for Stokesley businesses for the last 12 years!

Come along and enjoy our informal networking event. ‘Thirsty Thursday’ brings Hambleton businesses together. Businesses and individuals in Stokesley and the surrounding areas are being invited to a new networking event.
‘Thirsty Thursday’ will take place at various locations in Stokesley. The aim of the informal get-together is to allow businesses to meet after work, between 5pm and 7pm, and talk

about new projects, events and opportunities. The idea came about following the success of similar events in Northallerton and Middlesbrough where a group of individuals recognised the need for an informal networking event for people living and working in Stokesley and the surrounding towns and villages.

Please read this useful info on AI Retail scammers.

Useful to be aware for consumers and retailers alike!

Thanks for sharing North Yorkshire Council

We're warning residents about AI‑generated scam websites after a growing number of complaints from people who believed they were buying from legitimate UK businesses after seeing photographs of supposed physical shops and happy customers.

In reality, the images and website text are AI‑generated and the goods are being sold by overseas traders, primarily based in China.

Before you buy, take a moment to check:
- Contact details: if they are missing or cannot be verified, do not proceed
- Shopfront images: compare them with online street maps
- Reviews: read reviews carefully
- Account age: scam sites and social media pages are often newly created
- Company claims: if a business claims to be a limited company, verify on https://gov.uk/
