💜 OWLS IS TAKING A WELL-DESERVED BREAK! 💜
As many of you know, OWLS is run entirely by our amazing volunteers, who work incredibly hard and always go above and beyond for the ladies who attend the OWLS Hub. 🦉💜
Our volunteers deserve some time to recharge their batteries, rest and spend some quality time with their families.
Therefore, OWLS will be closed for two weeks from Monday 24th August and will reopen on Monday 7th September.
We would like to thank all our wonderful ladies for your understanding and continued support. 💜
We hope you all have a lovely couple of weeks, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the OWLS Hub very soon! 🦉💜

✨ ✨

A huge congratulations to all the amazing ladies who graduated from The VOICE programme today. 💜

It has been an absolute pleasure and an honour to work alongside you over the past 13 weeks. Watching your confidence grow, your strength shine through, and seeing the progress you've all made has been truly inspiring.

We hope the tools, knowledge and support you've gained during the programme help you move forward with confidence and empower you to live the life you truly deserve.

We celebrated with some alcohol-free bubbly 🥂, and I'd also like to say a heartfelt thank you for the thoughtful gifts—they were so appreciated.

We are incredibly proud of every one of you. Remember, this isn't the end of your journey—it's the beginning of an exciting new chapter. 💜

We are deeply saddened by the news coming out of Brinnington today of the passing of Mark, known to many as Mr Brinnington. First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Everyone at OWLS is sending you love, and our prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Mark was a real character who did so much for the community, always with passion and pride. He will be greatly missed. I will always be grateful for the support he gave to Courteney and me when we were running the OWLS drop-ins. He cared deeply about what we do and was always ready to offer a helping hand.

Mark, you will be missed by so many. Rest in peace.

💜 Volunteers' Week 💜
This Volunteers' Week, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our past and present volunteers at OWLS.
Your dedication, kindness, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting difference to the lives of so many women and families who have accessed our support over the years. Whether you gave a few hours a week or supported us over many years, your time, energy, and belief in what we do have helped OWLS grow into the organisation it is today.
You have listened without judgement, offered encouragement when it was needed most, and helped create a safe and welcoming space for women rebuilding their lives.
We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer who has been part of the OWLS journey. Your contribution has never gone unnoticed, and the impact you've made will continue to be felt for years to come.
From all of us at OWLS – thank you for being part of our story. 💜

🌟VOLUNTEERS WEEK🌟

Say hello to Liza — a wonderful example of what OWLS is all about. We first met Liza in a park, where she reached out for support. Since then, she has completed several of our courses and blossomed in confidence and self‑belief.
Liza may be new to the team, but her commitment and enthusiasm are already clear. She’s currently learning our systems and will soon begin her journey towards becoming a Support Worker.
We have no doubt she will thrive. Well done, Liza — we’re cheering you on every step of the way.💜

🌟VOLUNTEERS WEEK 🌟

Meet Jess, our wonderful Referrals Administrator and often the very first friendly voice you hear when contacting OWLS. Jess came to us seeking support, and through her passion and determination, she soon became an invaluable volunteer — giving back to the very community that once supported her.
She has poured her heart into her role, helping women feel welcomed, heard, and understood from the very first conversation.
Jess will soon be moving on to full‑time employment, and while we’ll miss her deeply, we couldn’t be prouder. Thank you, Jess, for everything you’ve brought to OWLS. We wish you all the success in your next chapter.

🌟VOLUNTEERS WEEK🌟

Meet Alissa, one of the newest members of our OWLS team — and already an absolute star. As our Course Administrator, she keeps everything running smoothly and also supports our volunteers by training them on our systems.
Despite only being with us a short time, Alissa has completely immersed herself in the OWLS way of working. Her passion for what we do shines through in everything she takes on.
We feel very lucky to have her as part of the OWLS family. 🌟💜
