💜 Volunteers' Week 💜
This Volunteers' Week, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our past and present volunteers at OWLS.
Your dedication, kindness, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting difference to the lives of so many women and families who have accessed our support over the years. Whether you gave a few hours a week or supported us over many years, your time, energy, and belief in what we do have helped OWLS grow into the organisation it is today.
You have listened without judgement, offered encouragement when it was needed most, and helped create a safe and welcoming space for women rebuilding their lives.
We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer who has been part of the OWLS journey. Your contribution has never gone unnoticed, and the impact you've made will continue to be felt for years to come.
From all of us at OWLS – thank you for being part of our story. 💜

🌟VOLUNTEERS WEEK🌟

Say hello to Liza — a wonderful example of what OWLS is all about. We first met Liza in a park, where she reached out for support. Since then, she has completed several of our courses and blossomed in confidence and self‑belief.
Liza may be new to the team, but her commitment and enthusiasm are already clear. She’s currently learning our systems and will soon begin her journey towards becoming a Support Worker.
We have no doubt she will thrive. Well done, Liza — we’re cheering you on every step of the way.💜

🌟VOLUNTEERS WEEK 🌟

Meet Jess, our wonderful Referrals Administrator and often the very first friendly voice you hear when contacting OWLS. Jess came to us seeking support, and through her passion and determination, she soon became an invaluable volunteer — giving back to the very community that once supported her.
She has poured her heart into her role, helping women feel welcomed, heard, and understood from the very first conversation.
Jess will soon be moving on to full‑time employment, and while we’ll miss her deeply, we couldn’t be prouder. Thank you, Jess, for everything you’ve brought to OWLS. We wish you all the success in your next chapter.

🌟VOLUNTEERS WEEK🌟

Meet Alissa, one of the newest members of our OWLS team — and already an absolute star. As our Course Administrator, she keeps everything running smoothly and also supports our volunteers by training them on our systems.
Despite only being with us a short time, Alissa has completely immersed herself in the OWLS way of working. Her passion for what we do shines through in everything she takes on.
We feel very lucky to have her as part of the OWLS family. 🌟💜

Meet Tracey, one of our long‑standing volunteers and a true credit to OWLS. Her warm, approachable nature brings comfort to everyone she meets — from the women we support to the staff she works alongside.
Tracey facilitateS our Confidence Building Course, offering encouragement, calm, and genuine care to every session. She also supports the wider OWLS community with passion and dedication.
When she’s not empowering the ladies here, Tracey loves reconnecting with nature and enjoying peaceful walks outdoors.
We’re so grateful to have her as part of the OWLS family. 💜

Meet Sarah — one of our dedicated Committee Members, Peer Support Workers, and Course Facilitators here at OWLS. Since joining us in 2020, Sarah has become an invaluable part of our team, supporting women with compassion, strength, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
She helps facilitate both The VOICE Programme and Who’s In Charge? (WIC?), bringing encouragement and empowerment to every session. Sarah is passionate about creating positive change in the lives of the women we support, and in the future, she hopes to continue her journey by working with children.
We’re so grateful to have her as part of the OWLS family.

🌟 🌟

Say hello to Jacquie! 💜

Jacquie has been part of the OWLS family since 2018 and is one of the first friendly faces you'll meet when you walk through our doors.
As our Secretary and Peer Support Worker, she brings compassion, dedication, and a calming presence to the women we support every day. Her kindness, understanding, and passion for helping others make a real difference to so many lives.
When she's not at OWLS, Jacquie is a proud mum to two boys and a very happy grandma to two girls and a boy — a role she absolutely loves!
We're incredibly grateful for everything Jacquie does for OWLS and the women we support. Thank you for being such an important part of our team. 💜

At OWLS, we are incredibly proud of our amazing volunteers who give their time, energy, compassion, and dedication to support the women who access our services.
Behind every listening ear, every supportive conversation, and every helping hand is a volunteer who genuinely cares and works tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of others.
Over the next few days, we'll be shining a spotlight on some of these incredible individuals, and celebrating the valuable contribution they make to our OWLS community.
Please join us in thanking our volunteers for everything they do. 💜
