KLSB Community Group

KLSB Community Group Our vision is to help tackle food poverty and bring initiatives to our local community.

KLSB started as a small group set up by a few friends to help tidy up a local park in Stenhousemuir. We quickly grew and after a while, we began operations to start a local community food pantry as well as carrying out gardening work in our community. In 2021 KLSB became a registered charity meaning that we could expand the work that we do through funding. Our community pantry now supports over 50

households per week as well as offers emergency support to agencies and local institutes such as NHS Forth Valley, Police Scotland, Falkirk Council, Family Support, Local Schools and Citizens Advice, etc. In August 2022 we brought a community kitchen/coffee shop to our premises at 17 King Street where we offer work experience and a chance to gain a recognised qualification as a barista to young adults from Larbert High School. We continue to work in the gardens and in 2022 we planted 4 large wildflower meadows on King Street as well as placed over 60 large floral displays in our town center and surrounding areas. KLSB is supported by a team of volunteers and we have forged alliances with local businesses who help and benefit our initiatives.

πŸ’” No child should go hungry because school is closed.

Right now, more than 1 in 4 children across Falkirk are living in poverty.

For many children, their school lunch is the most substantial meal they receive each day. When schools close for the summer, that meal disappears, but hunger doesn't.

At KLSB Community Foodbank and Pantry, we support individuals and families across our local communities. As the summer holidays approach, we know demand for our services will increase as household budgets are stretched even further.

That's why we've launched our 500 Meals for Β£500 Appeal.

🎯 Our goal is simple:

πŸ₯£ Raise Β£500
πŸ₯£ Provide 500 instant meals
πŸ₯£ Support local families this summer

πŸ’· Β£1 = 1 meal
πŸ’· Β£5 = 5 meals
πŸ’· Β£10 = 10 meals

Every donation, no matter how small, will help put food on the table for someone in our community.

πŸ₯« If you'd prefer to donate food or household essentials, we also have several collection points available. Please check our page for details of our drop-off locations and our most-needed items.

πŸ“± You can donate instantly by scanning the QR code on our poster or by visiting our Crowdfunder page.

If you can't donate, please consider sharing this post. One share could help us reach someone who can.

❀️ As volunteers, we see the difference your support makes every single week. On behalf of everyone who relies on our foodbank, thank you.

Together, we can help ensure that no one goes hungry this summer.

🍎πŸ₯« CAN YOU HELP US STOCK THE SHELVES THIS SUMMER? πŸ₯«πŸŽ

As we approach the school summer holidays, demand on the KLSB Community Foodbank and Pantry always increases significantly.

For many families, school provides more than just education. Sadly, for some children, their school lunch is the only substantial meal they receive each day. When the schools close for the summer, the pressure on family budgets can become overwhelming. πŸ’”

At KLSB Community Group, we are already preparing for the increased demand that we know is coming, and we're asking our wonderful community for a little help.

πŸ’™ Imagine the difference we could make if every household donated just ONE item per week. It may not seem like much, but together those donations help ensure local families have food on the table throughout the summer holidays.

πŸ’š Volunteers Week 2026 πŸ’š

Behind every food parcel, every community event, every cup of tea served, every fundraiser, every flower planted and every helping hand offered, there is a volunteer.

At KLSB Community Group, our volunteers are the driving force behind everything we do. They give their time freely, often without recognition, simply because they care about their community and the people who live in it.

This Volunteers Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every single volunteer who has supported our journey. Your kindness, dedication and commitment help make Larbert and Stenhousemuir a better place for everyone.

You are not just volunteers. You are the heart of KLSB.

Thank you for everything you do. πŸ’š

This is exactly what strong community partnerships can achieve. πŸ’š

Massive thank you to Under the Trees Outdoor Learning for this initiative.

Young people, local organisations, funders, schools, businesses and volunteers all coming together with one shared aim, making Stenhousemuir brighter, better and something we can all take pride in.

The Eco Champions from Ladeside Primary were outstanding, especially in that heat, and it was brilliant to see how much they cared about their town centre.

KLSB Community Group were delighted to support this project and play our part alongside so many fantastic partners.

A special thank you as well to Your Equipment Solutions, who will be helping keep the planters watered throughout the summer, making sure all that hard work continues to shine.

This is community working at its very best. πŸŒΈβ˜€οΈ
