Urgent Weekend Appeal – Can You Help?

As many families across Falkirk head out for their weekend shop, we’re reaching out with an urgent request. Our shelves are running very low on several essential items, and your support can make an immediate difference to local people who need us.

Most‑needed items right now:

• Custard
• Peas
• Potatoes (tinned)
• Long‑life milk
• Cartons of whole juice
• Diluting juice
• Tinned meats (stew, bolognese, chilli, meatballs, etc.)
• General toiletries

Every single donation, no matter the size, helps us support neighbours who are struggling. If you’re able to pick up even one extra item this weekend, it would mean so much.

Thank you for always standing with your community.

Falkirk Council has launched a new Benefits Calculator to help residents quickly understand what financial support they may be entitled to, along with local help available in their community.

Many people who could receive financial support don’t claim it because the system can feel confusing or hard to navigate. This new tool removes those barriers by offering a simple, accessible way to check entitlements in just a few minutes.

Please give it a try and share it with anyone who might benefit. See the link in the comments below.

Our foodbank accepts donations by online banking, meaning you can support local families from home in just a few clicks. Every contribution helps keep shelves stocked and households supported.

It’s quick, secure and it makes an immediate impact for people in Falkirk who need it most. See link in comments below.

As you’re out doing your weekend shop, please think about adding something extra to your trolley for the foodbank.

Even one tin, one packet, one treat can make a real difference to someone in our community.

Thank you for helping keep Falkirk fed and supported.

A big thank you to Falkirk Caledonia Choir!

Your recent donation hit all the right notes and helped us turn a challenging week into a major key moment for our community. We’re so grateful for your voices, your kindness, and your support, you’ve truly helped us keep the shelves (and spirits) well‑tuned. 🎶💛

A heartfelt thank you to all our incredible donors.

Your regular contributions are the backbone of what we do month after month, you keep our work going, and we’re genuinely grateful for every single donation.

A quick reminder of just how powerful Gift Aid is: last week we reclaimed over £2,000 through Gift Aid submissions. That’s funding that goes straight back into our work at no extra cost to anyone who’s signed up.

But here’s the thing, many donors still aren’t registered for Gift Aid, which means we’re missing out on additional funds we’re entitled to claim. If you’re eligible, signing up is quick, easy, and boosts your donation by 25%.

You’ll find our bank details and the Gift Aid form at the link below.

Lent starts tomorrow… which means it’s officially the season of giving things up.

But instead of ditching chocolate (again), how about doing something that actually makes a difference in Falkirk?

More and more people are struggling to make ends meet, and the Falkirk Foodbank is seeing a big rise in folks needing a wee bit of help. We’re doing everything we can but we can’t do it alone.

So this Lent, if you’re giving something up… maybe give something in.

We urgently need sugar, tinned fruit, tinned meat, custard and rice.

And because everyone deserves a treat, especially when times are tough, we’d love donations of chocolate and Easter eggs too. 🍫

If you’re able to donate, even a little goes a long way.

Thanks for helping us support our community 💚

While you’re doing your usual weekend shop, if you’re able, consider popping an extra item or two in your trolley for Falkirk Foodbank.

Nothing fancy, just the everyday things that make a huge difference to someone nearby who’s struggling. Pasta, tins, cereal, toiletries… the kind of basics that help.

Valentine’s Day can be all roses and chocolates, but kindness is the thing that actually keeps a community going. And Falkirk is full of people with big hearts.

If you can spare something this weekend, we’d be incredibly grateful.

A small donation from you becomes a big moment of relief for someone right here at home. ❤️

A massive thank you to our brilliant neighbours at Devout Detailing.

Whether they’re keeping our vans sparkling or dropping off donations, their support means more than they know. It’s the kind of kindness that keeps our doors open and helps us look after people across Falkirk who need a hand.

We’re really grateful to have them right next door always ready to help, always community‑minded, and always going the extra mile.

The Happy Hookers knitting group, based at the The Canal Inn Official in Camelon, have stitched together an incredibly thoughtful donation of several bags of toiletries for Falkirk Foodbank.

The group recognises that supporting our community means providing more than food alone, and their generosity helps us knit essential toiletries into every parcel we provide.

Their kindness is truly something to purl over, helping us support local families with dignity, care, and a little extra comfort.

Thank you for keeping our community in the loop.

Today we welcomed Euan Stainbank MP to the foodbank as he presented us with a certificate recognising the Early Day Motion he raised in Parliament.

(Early Day Motions are formal motions submitted by MPs to highlight an issue or draw attention to a cause. They are an important way of placing something on the parliamentary record.)

We appreciate the visit and the opportunity to shine a light on the work happening across Falkirk. Any recognition we receive is really a reflection of the incredible effort of our volunteers, who show up day after day to support local people through difficult times.

As demand continues to rise, our focus remains on ensuring households across the area have access to the help they need. We’re grateful for every donation, every hour volunteered, and every act of kindness that helps keep this work going.
