Please spread the word!

Our bike maintenance team are on site at Lock 16 every Wednesday 9:30am -1pm.

We offer free/low cost bike checks, servicing and repairs, we only ask for donations towards replacement parts if required. No labour costs.

You can stay while we work on your bike and learn how to carry out basic checks and minor repairs such as chains, brakes, punctures etc, our volunteers will teach you the basics.

We also have a number of bikes in stock which have been donated to us and restored by our talented team of bike mechanics, some of these bikes are available for free to a good home. Why not drop in and have a look?

Contact us on the below email address, or drop in and see us at Lock 16, Portdownie.

A busy day at GFC…

Natalie and our volunteers John, Nathan, and Gordon are busy repotting our apple trees and making a boat planter for our garden area 🪏🪴

Gordon is in the @16 workshop finishing off a planter for a local resident. 🔨

Crawford is applying some finishing touches to one of our murals 🎨

Robert and Cammy are on their way to Bonnybridge for some lock keeping with wide beam ‘Tom Huff’ travelling between locks 17 and 20. 🚴‍♂️⚓️

Happy Friday everyone!

Some highlights from the last week…

Our weekly walking group visited the Battle of Falkirk trail, and also the Heritage Trails walk in Falkirk town centre. Thank you to our volunteer Karen for leading on these.

Some of our staff and volunteers tried their hand at Archery at the Falkirk Wheel, our volunteer Gordon could give Robin Hood a run for his money hitting 3 bullseyes in a row! 🎯 Thank you to Scottish Canals for delivering this session, we look forward to the next one!
