☀ Craft Afternoon - 17th June ☀

Join us this Wednesday for a crafting afternoon making Sun Catchers - the perfect activity for what is going to be a very sunny week!😄

No experience is needed and this event as always, is completely free, although we do welcome donations to help us cover our costs 🥰.

This session is lead by our amazing volunteer Lizzie, come along enjoy some time to unwind, chat, and create! We’d love to see you there - no need to book, just show up! 🌟

🌟Hemlock Happening 🌟

We had a great time at the yearly Hemlock Happening on Saturday. Thank you to everyone that came along, had a chat and had a go on the tombola! We hope you enjoyed yourselves. 😁

We were also able to showcase our new wheelchair accessible minibus to the world! We are so pleased to now have the new vehicle for our trips and transport scheme. 🚐

A big thank you to the volunteers that supported Sue for the event. We couldn't have done it without your dedication and the enthusiasm you always bring when you volunteer! 🥰

Yesterday we held a volunteer open day. We want to thank everyone that came along and helped, we hope you had a great time! It was great to also welcome new faces. 😁

For those that couldn't make it we still cannot thank you enough for the commitment you all continue to provide to The Helpful Bureau. 🥰

🌟Volunteers Week 🌟

Volunteers Week is almost here! From now until the end of Volunteers Week we will be introducing you to some of our wonderful volunteers. We asked each of them to tell us more about why they volunteer. 😄

Todays post features Sara, read below what she had to say!

"My name is Sara, I’ve been a volunteer with the Helpful Bureau since October 2025. I mainly help with coffee mornings, craft afternoons and as an accompanier on day trips.

The Helpful Bureau was brilliant helping my dad with handy man jobs when he was very poorly over ten years ago. I said then I would love to volunteer and when I finished work as head of retail for Treetops Hospice I was finally able to do this.

I massively enjoy being part of the gang - working with the staff, volunteers, and all the great characters who use the services. It is rewarding, friendly, and there are a lot of laughs. I can very much recommend joining up."
