Can you spare a few hours to make a real difference?

There are still volunteer places available at a few World Su***de Prevention Day football and rugby matches across Derbyshire.

Volunteers play a vital role in welcoming supporters and handing out WSPD Z-Cards, which include club fixtures alongside mental health and su***de prevention information.

No previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to support an important community event. You'll be fully briefed beforehand, supported on the day by a volunteer lead, and many clubs will allow volunteers to stay and watch the match for free afterwards!

The games provide a great opportunity to:
🗣️Raise awareness of mental health and su***de prevention
🗣️ Help start important conversations
🗣️ Meet new people and support your local community
🗣️ Be part of an event that could make a real difference

Erewash Voluntary Action help over 200 community groups every year to continue their work supporting people facing a variety of health problems and other challenges, providing expert advice, signposting, funding, providing training and guidance on best practice. In the last 12 months we supported 260 volunteers to gain essential life skills while making a real impact on their local communities.

Despite the clear need for charities and voluntary services in our communities, the sector as a whole is facing a lack of funding. That’s where you, as a local business, can help.

💚Erewash Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Small Grants

Are you a local charity, community group or not-for-profit organisation working with children and young people in Erewash?

The Derbyshire Children & Young People Emotional Wellbeing Small Grants Fund is now open, offering grants of up to £5,000 to support projects that help children and young people thrive.

We're looking to fund community-based activities that promote positive emotional wellbeing, build confidence and resilience, reduce isolation and provide safe, inclusive opportunities for children and young people. Projects might include creative activities, sports, outdoor experiences, peer support, wellbeing groups or other positive opportunities that help young people feel connected and supported.

• Grants of up to £5,000
• One-off projects and start-up activities
• Supporting children and young people aged 0–18 (up to 25 with additional needs)
• Community-based and preventative approaches
