Fantastic to welcome our soon-to-be new vicar Mike Firbank to Welcome on Wednesday.
Gemma & the team served up a delicious meal of jacket potato, sausages and tomato vegetables, followed by bread & butter pudding.

Mike said a prayer of thanks for the food & everyone involved in the meal. He met Gordon, who we think may have the record of the oldest St John's community member 😉
Thanks to all the volunteers, here Philippa & Wendy who've literally been slaving over a hot stove all morning ❤️

This week our churchwardens Jo and Mary were formally appointed for the year. Here they are with Revd Mike who will be joining us at St John’s from 27 July.

If you’re interested in coming along to church on a Sunday or having lunch with us on a Wednesday, you can chat to Jo or Mary. They can help with any questions or worries you might have.

A Prayer For Volunteers Week

Lord we give thanks for everyone who gives their time to support our St John's community - Sunday worship, WoW, Manna food, Uniformed groups and all the other activities
We thank you for their dedication and the many skills they bring.
Pour out your blessings and strengthen volunteers, especially the many people who serve here at St John’s.
May our many volunteers know the difference they make, and feel the comfort and joy they bring to others.
Call us and give us confidence to act in your name.
Give us grace to build your kingdom here.
