Two wonderful pieces of news to share at Welcome on Wednesday this week.

Firstly, the incredible news that Erewash Borough Council has offered us a grant to support the running of WoW for the next 18 months; and secondly that we passed our environmental health spot inspection with 5 stars and no advisories. The inspector was really impressed with our facilities, our volunteers, our training and our record keeping.

A huge thank you to Erewash Borough Council, and to everyone involved in WoW for all your hard work and support.

What are God’s expectations of us? John's Church Long Eaton

In our Sunday morning worship, we thought about people in the Bible and through history, who have served God.
They haven't been perfect and they haven't always found it easy. God has been with them to help them. Just as he is there to help us, if we ask.
Mother Theresa was one of those people.

Our Ronald Pope cross is illuminated in church from today. If you’d like to see it in all its glory, you can come along on a Sunday at 10am.

We're planning ahead for Advent and Christmas and we have plenty to share with you. Grab your diaries, and pop the dates in:

Sunday 29 November at 10am, we'll kick off with a family-friendly service to begin the season of Advent.

On Sunday 13 December at 10am, you can come dressed for the Christmas story! We'll scratch a live Nativity together. It will be far from perfect, but it'll be fun!

At 4pm on Sunday 20 December we'll have our traditional Carol service with mince pies and drinks. Perfect to really get in the Christmas spirit.

By Christmas Eve, we're ready for our famous CAROLS IN THE CAR PARK. This has grown since we started five years ago - and we can't wait to see you there. Come along for hot chocolate and to start the festivities.

As usual, 11.30pm will celebrate the first communion service of Christmas, followed by a family-friendly communion at 10am on Christmas Day.

Please join us for whatever you'd like to. Everyone is welcome, even if you've never been to church before.

Today we are praying for anyone impacted by the loss of a baby, during pregnancy, birth or afterwards. Church will be open during the day today if anyone would like to light a candle here.
