At the end of the season over 3,000 supporters packed Roots Hall to watch Southend United Ladies take to the famous pitch for the very first time, showcasing just how far the women's game has come and the exciting future ahead.

As we now turn our attention to the 2026/27 season, we're still looking for local businesses and organisations to join us on this journey by sponsoring one of our players.

For just £400, your sponsorship will help provide:
⚽ Matchday and training kit
⚽ Equipment and medical support
⚽ Pitch hire and match officials
⚽ League, FA and safeguarding requirements

In return, you'll receive:
📣 Regular promotion across our social media channels
📣 Association with your chosen player throughout the season
📣 Exposure to a growing and passionate local fanbase

Several sponsorship opportunities have already been taken, but player sponsorships are still available.

By supporting a player, you're not only backing local sport, you're helping remove financial barriers and creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive through football.

🎨🧠 Strong Minds, Active Lives in Action! 💙✨

As part of our Strong Minds, Active Lives programme, funded by National League Trust, students at Our Lady of Lourdes School have been putting their creativity to work, producing some fantastic posters focused on mental health and wellbeing.🌟

The programme is designed to help KS2 children develop a better understanding of their emotions, build self-awareness, boost self-esteem, and learn positive strategies to support their mental wellbeing. 💭💪

We’re incredibly proud of the thoughtful messages, creativity, and enthusiasm shown by all the students involved! 👏🎨

What a season it’s been for our Youth Team 🙌⚽

Integrating the Youth Team from the Club into the Community Foundation has taken huge amounts of hard work, dedication and commitment from all of the staff involved behind the scenes.

This season has shown exactly what can be achieved when everyone pulls together with one vision and one purpose 💙

From development on the pitch to making a real impact within our community, the progress throughout the 2026/27 season has been fantastic to see, and it’s something everyone connected to the programme should be proud of 👏

Some of the incredible achievements below:

* The under 17s came second in their under 19s National League Division A
* The under 19s came third in the Under 19s National League Academy South League - a league that has teams full of previous and ex EFL youth team scholar players
* The under 18s reached the FA Youth Cup fourth round proper - beating EFL club Swindon Town in the Third round proper under the lights at Roots Hall, before losing to EFL championship club Wrexham in front of 1300 people at Roots Hall
* We had a player that has been at the club since the age of 7 (Joe Poxon) break the youth team record for the most competitive youth team appearances - Joe bleeds blue 💙
* Julius Nwike & Joshua Barrett both gained valuable learning experience being in the first team squad Vs Forest Green & York City respectively
* Nikolay Zlatev winning The Shrimpers Trust U19 player of the season after a fantastic season, scoring 40 goals
* Joshua Barrett and Harry Carter have trained regularly with the first team
* Players have gone on trial at EFL & Premier League clubs showing the standard of players we have at this football club

A massive thank you to the players, staff, parents and supporters who continue to support the youth of this football club 🤝

We now look forward to continuing the hard work and building even further from this success throughout the 2026/27 season ⚽️

Following the success of last Saturday’s game at Roots Hall, where Southend United Ladies made history by playing their first ever match on the hallowed pitch against Colchester United Women in front of over 3000 spectators, and the conclusion of the 25/26 season with the end of season awards which took place last night, we are proud to continue building momentum for women’s football in our community.

At Southend United Community Foundation, we are committed to promoting women’s participation in sport, improving physical and mental wellbeing, and creating positive opportunities within our local community.

As we prepare for the 26/27 season in the Eastern Region Women's Football League, Division One South, we are inviting local businesses to sponsor an individual player for £400.

Your sponsorship will directly support:
• Matchday and training kit.
• Equipment and medical provision.
• Pitch hire and match officials.
• League, FA and safeguarding requirements.

This funding ensures our players can compete without financial barriers and continue representing the local community at the highest possible level.

In return, your business will receive:
• Regular promotion across club social media.
• Association with your sponsored player throughout the season.
• Visibility within a growing and passionate local supporter base.

We are now allocating player sponsors for the upcoming season.

To secure your sponsored player, please contact Kylie Halls (Club Secretary) on 01702 341351 or email [email protected]

Supporting a player is a simple but impactful way to invest in women’s football and make a visible difference within our community.
