Elaine helps out when she can with Fintee production and packing. A few years years ago her son was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer - he was 13 years old. Initially he was given some of our sleeves but he soon needed a port to be fitted instead. He found lifting his T-shirt up all the time for the nurses to access the port upsetting and even more an intrusion into his privacy. A friend’s Nan (Tina) who was part of the PICCPals team, adapted a T-shirt for him and it changed the next year of his treatment, giving back a tiny bit of his dignity. This was the start of the amazing FinTee t-shirts who are now one of our key partners.
“I am so fortunate to have found this amazing group of volunteers who give their time freely and with such kindness and care for all they do. I help whenever I can and leave all of the sessions feeling humbled by the time these lovely humans give to making items to help others, they are amazing. “
We are so proud to have as part of our product line.
