Hey! I'm Rachel and I've been supporting people who experince mental ill helath into volunteering for 14 years ๐Ÿ’š
I love meeting and working with people, helping them to figure out what their skills are, encouraging them to go for what they want and assisting them to find the right volunteering role that suits them and what they are all about.
Alongside my work I love living by the sea, pottering in my little garden and hanging out with my 5 cats ๐Ÿ˜ป

So if you have been thinking about how to boost your confidence or want to develop some new skills or give back to a cause you believe in? Get in touch and let's have a chat ๐Ÿ˜Š

We partnered up with and their brilliant Health & Wellbeing Team to offer supported volunteers the opportunity to learn more about local history & how its shaped Southend today. Our host, Verna, made us feel so welcome and brought all the positive energy whilst educating us on historical characters, stunning landmarks & local legends. The workshops, held in 4 museum locations, encouraged curious chats, helped build confidence and gave us the space to get creative with history related craft activities ๐Ÿคฉ

Alongside helping people find volunteer roles, the Supported Volunteering Project workshops help improve confidence, reduce isolation and encourage social connections ๐Ÿ’š

We know the benefits of taking care of 'all' health, mental & physical ๐Ÿ’š Physical activity can help reduce tension, stress and mental fatigue. It can leave us feeling focused and motivated and gives us a natural energy boost, who doesn't want one of those?! ๐Ÿฅณ
Supported Volunteering were invited to join the brilliant for a bitesize session at the Gym Group. Harry, who is a Personal Trainer at the gym, made us feel very welcome and helped reduce the anxiety some of us were feeling. He showed us how to use the equipment properly, motivated us to get moving and answered all our many questions ๐Ÿ˜„
Big shout out to Jess for organising ๐Ÿค—

Alongside supporting people who have experienced mental ill health into volunteering, the project also encourages people to get involved with their community, try new activities and take care of their health holistically ๐Ÿ’š
