The W.I. is a diverse and multifaceted organisation with national and international connections. New members are most welcome.

Its concerns range from climate change, to cooking, from crafts to community projects. Bayston Hill WI was founded on 7th January, 1932. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at Bayston Hill Memorial Hall at 7.30, ample parking. Visitors welcome: donations, (Max 3 visits)

On Wednesday evening we had a change of speaker; thanks must go to Sarah Evans for stepping in at the last minute to talk about how she started out on the creative road to silk painting. There was then opportunity for us to 'have a go'. The lucky winner of the hand painted scarf was Di.

We had a busy afternoon in The Burgs room, sewing squares into blankets for wards at RSH. Many thanks to those who have donated wool, knitted squares or finished off the blankets. Six are totally finished with another six in production.

What’s happening soon at our WI.

Wednesday 14th October. Silk painting with Sarah Evans (a change from the original speaker).

Friday October 23rd. Arthur’s Plough at Theatre Severn
Saturday October 24th. ‘Journey’ a concert in aid of Lingen Davies
Friday 20th November. A Christmas Carol (kind of) at Bayston Hill Memorial Hall
Saturday 2nd January. Aladdin at Theatre Severn

Long walk. 30th October
Short walk 14th October

Lunch club is going to Csons. Date to be arranged.

Craft club Thursday 15th October, wreaths. Arrangements are to be made for teaching crochet.

Our president will be laying our poppy wreath on November 11th at 10.45 at the Memorial Hall.

Five members of Theatre Club enjoyed a visit to The Lowry Theatre in Salford to see High Society. Thank you Macrina for organising this. We had a very good outing with great company.

Repair Cafe at Christ Church on Saturday 3rd October, 10am to 12 noon.

Through membership of the WI we have links with Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW). This organisation helps promote meaningful quality education to secure a pathway to relieve poverty in rural communities throughout the World. Collection boxes for loose change are available at our meetings to add 'Pennies for Friendship'.

We stayed local today for our walk, with an early coffee stop at Mousecroft and lunch in the Di**le. Then rounded it off with a visit to the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Memorial Hall. Thanks to Sue and Shirley for leading and Shirley for the photographs.
