We were so lucky to have sunny weather on our visit organized by Shropshire Federation to Port Sunlight. Our guide on the bus was very informative and entertaining. We enjoyed visits to the museum, art gallery and workman's cottage and were surprised by the variety of architecture in the houses.

Some of our members enjoyed a talk by Nicky Laceby of Bake Off fame as guests of St Giles WI this afternoon. From a child learning to bake with her grandma through to careers as a ski instructor, cabin crew and therapy dog owner Nicky led a full life. She told us of all the steps she went through before being accepted as a contestant in the famous Bake Off tent. We ended the afternoon with fizz, tea, scones and cake. It was a very interesting afternoon.

The weather was perfect today for the short walk in Helmeth Wood to view the bluebells. The photos taken by Shirley can not do justice to the wonderful display, or the scent. We even heard a cuckoo! Thank you Shirley for leading.
