Shropshire Autism Hub

Vision:
Shropshire Autism Hub leads the way in providing autism specific services for adults and their carers in Shropshire.

Shropshire Autism Hub is a partnership between A4U and Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT), providing information, advice, support and diagnostic services for autistic adults aged 18+ across Shropshire. Mission:
To provide services and activities that encourages people to develop, learn and progress in a safe, fun environment that supports expression in an autism friendly way. Services and Activities:
All services and activities delivered at the Shropshire Autism Hub offer coping strategies, self-management and independent living skills. Services:

Housing Support Drop-In with Shrewsbury Homes for All 22nd October 10am-12pm

Shrewsbury Homes for All is a local charity supporting people who are experiencing homelessness or facing housing difficulties. We are pleased to offer a bi-monthly Housing Support Drop-In at A4U, Louise House, Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury Homes For All's friendly and experienced team can provide practical advice and support on a range of housing issues, including:
Housing rights and options
Homelessness and preventing homelessness
Tenancy concerns
Benefits and housing costs
Navigating housing services and systems

If you need additional support, we can also offer follow-up assistance and help connect you with other relevant services.

Whether you have a specific question, need some guidance, or are unsure where to turn, you're welcome to come along for a friendly, confidential chat and find out how we can help.

No appointment needed. Everyone is welcome.

New free app helps people ‘Wait Less’ for urgent care services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

The NHS across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin has introduced WaitLess, a free smartphone app designed to help people choose the quickest local option for minor injuries and illnesses.

The app displays live waiting times, queue numbers, and travel time information for local urgent care services across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, helping you decide where you may be seen more quickly.

The app includes Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) which treat urgent but non-life-threatening conditions such as infections, minor injuries and illnesses, Minor Injury Units (MIUs) nurse-led services for injuries like cuts, sprains and minor burns, along with local pharmacies in the area as an alternative treatment option.

By combining travel, waiting, and treatment time, WaitLess gives patients a clear picture of how long they may spend at each location. This helps people make informed decisions, so they can be seen more quickly and pressure on Emergency Departments (A&E) is reduced.

The app also displays a full list of services available at each site, plus parking and opening time information.
