The National Highways works are consented by Natural England under the development consent control order. You can see in the photo the width of land involved.

National Highways have worked very closely with the park to reduce the impact on the site to the bear minimum by relocating utility corridors to help protect the site.

The reptile fence will be installed by mid October with any reptiles and newts moved into the park I to suitable hibernaculars.

Part of the land down Park Pale that is ancient woodland mitigation will be compensatory land for the loss of this strip of land.

Once the works are complete this strip of land will be managed as grass and herbs so a good corridor for pollinators.
