Spooky fun and games at our Halloween parade night on Wednesday!

It’s always good to have a change from the norm, dress up and eat a doughnut with your hands behind your back and sat on your knees!!

INTAKE MORNING.

Ahead of national cadet week, we held our annual intake event. We welcomed 15 potential new cadets along with parents and guardians for a morning that was filled with activities that we offer on our squadron. While the younger visitors made their way around the different stations, parents sat through a detailed presentation lead by our OC and training officer.

Today was made extra special as we hosted Cllr Stella Jones MBE, Chair of Dorset council, we think she particularly enjoyed our VR flight simulator.

Big thank you to our volunteering staff for giving another day of another weekend.

Let’s not forget our civilian committee, keeping the kettle boiled and supplying the CAKE!

This weekend the cadets are out in the Mountains, despite informing Warrant Officer Currie he could bring his pace stick with him, unfortunately the weekend didn't involve any marching and so has decided to have a hard earned rest at home. The team on the mountain wanted to pass him an important message, as an appreciation for the hard work he puts into the squadron.

From everyone at the squadron, here on the mountain and back home we wish WO Currie a Happy Birthday!.

Busy evening tonight, after a quick tidy and brush, we had a kit check for the weekend adventure training trip. Then on to using our new flight sims and a brief introduction into banner drill.

If you or someone you know is in year 8 of school or above, have an interest in aviation, space, cyber, leadership, meeting new people and starting a new adventure then Sherborne RAFAC is for you.

When’s it happening? :- October 3rd

What can you expect? :- an introduction into the activities we offer on our squadron, leadership, first aid, field craft, shooting, new flight simulators plus much more!

Last week we saw the completion of our SAD ( squadron activities day ) which took place over a 3 week period.
A flight and B flight pitted there skills against each other in competitions based around our wings activities day. We had
Leadership, GSK, aircraft recognition, public speaking, flight sim, radio, first aid and ended with the famous drill competition. ( adapted for the space we had )

Cadets were full engaged and supported their own teams recreating some great team spirit.
There were some individual awards along with the main winner. B flight.

Now the work starts to pick the teams to represent the squadron later in the year.
