Yesterday's Autumn Budget announced a few ways that people will save money this winter, including the scrapping of the standing charge on gas bills, and a one-off £100 payment from the government.

Plus, the Carer's Allowance 'cliff-edge' rule (meaning carers lose their benefit for earning just 1p over the limit) is to be abolished and replaced with a tapered reduction system.

Whilst this is welcome news, our latest research shows many people in our PH community struggle financially and rely heavily on benefits - and there are still unknowns as we await the outcomes of independent government reviews. Please be assured we will fight if we need to.

Today we'd like to give a special mention to Hannah Grant, who marked her birthday this month in a deeply meaningful way by shaving her head in memory of her partner.

Hannah and Steven (pictured in the comments) were together for 22 years before she lost him in February - and she is now raising their four-year-old son without him. She told us the sponsored shave was in loving memory of Steven, and she will continue to raise awareness of PH in his name. Thank you, from all of us.

This months marks seven years since Kate McCoy lost her mum Shirley, so last weekend saw her lace up and complete a 5km sponsored run in her memory 💜

Just seven weeks ago Kate, who lives in Northern Ireland, had never run a step - but she trained hard and with the moral support of her friend, she completed the challenge and was still smiling at the end!

Thank you Kate, for such a touching show of support for our charity.
