Mac’s Healing Hearts Coffee Morning

As Father’s Day approaches, the focus of this coffee morning will be on bereaved fathers and the ways in which grief can affect individuals differently, particularly following the loss of a child.

Mac’s Healing Hearts Coffee Morning provides an opportunity to come together in a supportive and understanding environment.

Guests are invited to enjoy refreshments and meaningful conversation with others who have experienced similar losses.

This welcoming gathering offers a safe space to connect, remember loved ones, and take time for personal reflection.

All bereaved parents and grandparents are warmly invited to attend. Don’t hesitate to bring a friend for support with you 💙

Yesterday’s session was peaceful as we reflected and remember our babies who were born in May.

As part of the growing mission to support families affected by baby and child
loss, Mac’s Healing Hearts Coffee Mornings began, and have become a heartfelt and healing space for those navigating child loss and grief.

Our coffee mornings are held the second Monday of each month, and are lovingly hosted by Jo-Anne Mac’s mum, Lisa, the founder of Dresses for Angels, alongside professionals from Chesterfield Royal Hospital's Paediatric Bereavement and Trauma Team.

All our facilitators have experienced their
own loss and understand your pain.

The coffee mornings are to allow people to feel safe, supported, and heard.
Whether you want to quietly listen, share your story, or simply be surrounded by understanding hearts, we welcome you and want to thank you for trusting our vision in helping you and others.

🌸 Bereaved Mother’s Day - May 3rd.

Bereaved Mother’s Day is an informal remembrance day created to honor mothers who have lost a child. It exists alongside traditional celebrations, but with a completely different tone: quiet, reflective, and deeply personal.

It’s not tied to a single organization or country, which is why you won’t see it widely advertised, but it has grown through shared experience, especially on social media and in bereavement networks.

🌿 Why May 3rd?

There isn’t one official origin story, but the date sits close to springtime in the Northern Hemisphere, a season often associated with renewal. For many, that contrast between life blooming and loss lingering makes the day feel symbolically powerful.

We wanted to send love and strength out there to all the mums who are grieving their children. 🙏🏻💕

Mac’s Healing Hearts is a gentle support network for bereaved parents, created to offer comfort, compassion, and understanding when it’s needed most. 🫶

It’s a safe space where you can come as you are, share your story if you want to, or simply sit among others who truly understand. No judgement, no expectations, just connection, support, and care.

Because no parent should have to navigate loss alone. 💙

A truly generous donation was received today in support of Mac’s Memory Movement, kindly given by Mark Wilkinson.

Instead of gifts, Mark asked for cash donations to our charity at his recent 60th birthday celebration held at the Sitwell Arms Hotel — a thoughtful and meaningful gesture that reflects incredible kindness.

Mac’s Healing Hearts – Next Coffee Morning ☕️

May 11th - 9.30am
💗 Reflection Service with a visit to the Memorial Garden at the Sitwell Arms Hotel.

Join us for a morning of reflection and connection, where parents come together to honour and remember their children. A quiet, meaningful space to share, support, and pay tribute.

This space stands as a powerful testament to the strength and love of those who have experienced such profound loss, including Jo-Anne our founder, whose dedication has helped shape and sustain this special place.

The reflection area remains open throughout the year for other angel parents who may wish to visit and add locks. These specially designed locks can be purchased and registered through Mac’s memory movement.

All are welcome to attend and you don’t have to register you can just turn up. Locks will be available on the day.
