🎃 Happy Halloween from Wild East Devon! 🎃

We love it when nature takes care of the Halloween decorations for us.

Some of our reserves are covered in these beautifully spooky webs, bringing a little seasonal magic to the landscape 🌿 🕸️

Meet the tiniest pigs of the countryside! 🐷🍂

Rose hips aren’t just a splash of autumn colour… they can become adorable little rose hip pigs too! ❤️

A fun excuse to head outside, explore and get creative with the treasures autumn has to offer.

🌿 Please remember: leave plenty of rose hips behind for wildlife and only collect where you have permission.

🌿 Exciting news for Seaton! 🌿

The Wild About Seaton project has received initial support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, East Devon District Council's Countryside team has been able to secure £250,000 in development funding to help shape plans to restore wetland habitats, improve access to nature, celebrate local heritage and create stronger connections between Seaton's wildlife and visitor attractions.

The funding will support the development of an ambitious bid for £2 million to deliver habitat creation, improved access, heritage interpretation and community engagement, strengthening connections between Seaton Wetlands and Seaton town.

🍃 Getting creative with nature! 🎨

Our Age UK Devon group recently enjoyed trying their hand at Hapa Zome, the Japanese art of ‘leaf dyeing’. 🌿

Using plants found around Seaton Wetlands, the group explored the wonderful variety of shapes, textures and colours growing across the reserve, creating beautiful natural patterns along the way.

It’s a simple, creative way to slow down, notice the little details and connect with nature and the changing seasons. 💚
