Pentagon are involved with helping the local community both with fund raising and hands on work

We have 26 members and are always delighted to welcome new members. Rotary was founded in 1905 by a Chicago Attorney, Paul Harris, who saw the need for Professionals to meet in a social environment to combine the benefits of mutual fellowship with posi

tive work for the good of mankind. The movement grew fast, expanded outside the United States and Scunthorpe Pentagon is proud to be in the Rotary International Great Britain and Ireland region. Rotary is non denominational and non discriminatory and today boasts 1.2m members in 32,482 Clubs worldwide. The movement crosses boundaries into some of the poorest developing countries in the world and into some of the most repressive regimes. As well as providing a great skill and contact resource for the communities in which they work individual Clubs raise thousands, if not tens of thousands for good causes both in their immediate area and for global projects.

Sunday 12th April was Rotary Club of Scunthorpe Pentagon 45th anniversary of being given their Charter as a Rotary Club.
To celebrate a lunchtime meal was held at the .
A total of 53 people attended with 11Rotary Clubs from Yorkshire and Lincolnshire in attendance including District Governor Anne Sutcliffe.
The speaker was Darren Johnson a ka Dame Annie F***y from the Scunthorpe Pantomimes for the last 21 years.
He showed how he "transformed" from Darren to Annie.
His demonstration was enjoyed by all present.

Thursday 9th April saw Rotary Club of Scunthorpe Pentagon members on duty in Morrisons Scunthorpe.
They were collecting to help fund the annual Rotary Children's Funday when Pentagon take children ( and carers) from St Luke's School Scunthorpe to Sundown Adventure land.
A big thank you to all that donated.

With less than half an hour to go with this year's Swimarathon we're delighted to say that the total amount of sponsorship money pledged has gone past the £14,000 mark!
Big thanks to all involved.

If things follow our experience of previous years we expect that total to increase even further.
A great sum to share amongst lots of good causes in North Lincolnshire.

Good luck to everyone taking part in the Swimarathon . We are delighted that thirty teams have entered and looking forward to a great event event. Spectators are welcome at NL Active The Pods between 10 o’clock this morning and 3 o’clock this afternoon!

Today is the big day! Our 2026 Swimarathon gets underway at 10.00 this morning.
We have a tremendous 31 teams swimming today. If you're not already involved why not come along to cheer on the teams.
It all happens at the Pods, Scunthorpe.
We're here until 4.00pm.
