❤️ A huge thank you to some wonderful people and children in Crowle!

We would like to say a very big thank you to Crowle Crafters, Crowle & Ealand Tree Elves and the children at Crowle CE Primary School for their incredible generosity and support of The Forge Project.

Between them, they have donated a fantastic collection of food, toiletries, personal hygiene products and other everyday essentials for our Harvest Appeal, along with a very generous £300 donation.

We would also like to thank everyone who contributed individually, including Mary Bright for her kind donation of clothing and shoes.

A special thank you goes to the children at Crowle Primary School. It’s wonderful to see young people getting involved, thinking about others and understanding that not everyone has access to the everyday things many of us take for granted. They should all be very proud of themselves, and we’re extremely grateful for their kindness.

For the people who rely on our services, these donations really do make a difference, and having the support of local people, community groups and schools means a great deal to us.

If you, your school, workplace or community group would like to help, we would be extremely grateful for donations just like these. Food, toiletries, personal hygiene products and other everyday essentials are always welcome, and every contribution helps us continue supporting those who need our help.

We rely heavily on the generosity of our local communities, and we never take that support for granted.

💙 A lovely message from Pip Huxford following Saturday night’s Big Sleep Out at Brigg Town Football Club.

Pip runs Brigg Town Football Club, where the event took place, and was also our chef at The Forge Project a few years ago, so she knows first-hand the work we do and the people we support.

Thank you, Pip, for your lovely words, your continued support and for helping make Saturday night’s event possible. We really appreciate everything you’ve done for us.

💙 A big thank you to everyone who supported The Big Sleep Out!

On Saturday evening, a fantastic group of people came together at Brigg Town Football Club to spend the night sleeping outdoors in support of The Forge Project, raising money and awareness of homelessness in our local community.

It was certainly a cold night, with temperatures as low as 5°C. The damp conditions, uncomfortable sleeping arrangements and lack of sleep gave everyone taking part a small insight into some of the difficulties faced by people who have no choice but to sleep outdoors.

Of course, spending one night outside in a safe, organised environment cannot compare with the reality of homelessness. Everyone taking part knew they could return to their warm homes and comfortable beds the following morning. Sadly, that isn’t the case for some of the people who come through our doors at The Forge Project.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday night to take part, along with their families, friends and everyone who sponsored them or made a donation.

A special thank you to Brigg Town Football Club CIC for allowing us to hold the event at their ground, Pip and Jim for their support, and our very own chef Tracy Cooney who joined everyone sleeping outdoors for the night.

We also want to recognise the generosity of local businesses, including Paragon Traffic Management Ltd Richard Connole Windows ,Doors and Conservatories and Enerco who have supported our fundraising, along with everyone who organised their own fundraising pages, including Amy, Rachel and those who helped behind the scenes, shared our posts or encouraged others to get involved.

We rely heavily on donations to keep providing our services, and we genuinely appreciate every single contribution. Whether you donated £5, £50 or more, your generosity helps us continue providing food, practical assistance and support to people in our community who are homeless, vulnerable or going through difficult circumstances.

We will share the final fundraising total once all donations have been collected and confirmed, but we already know that the support we’ve received has been fantastic.

Saturday night was about raising money, but just as importantly, it was about getting people talking about homelessness and recognising that there are people in our own community facing these circumstances every day.

We’ve included some photographs from Saturday night and Sunday morning, and we’d love everyone who took part to share their own pictures and experiences in the comments.

From everyone at The Forge Project, thank you for giving up your time, supporting our work and helping us continue being there for people who need us. Your support really does mean a great deal to everyone involved.

For those taking part, it was just one night. For some of the people who come through our doors at The Forge Project, sleeping rough is something they face every night on our streets.

Thank you Alpha Marketing Social Media - can you help?

Winter is coming

PLEASE HELP

The Forge Project has just given out its last sleeping bag, and with the colder weather coming in fast and the darker nights drawing in, they desperately need more.

I’m looking for a local North Lincolnshire business, or businesses, who would be willing to sponsor The Forge and help buy some more sleeping bags for people who are homeless or sleeping rough in our area.

I say local businesses because ideally I’d love to be able to thank them publicly, share a picture and give their business some recognition for helping people in their own community. It also helps encourage other businesses to come forward and do the same. Of course, if anyone would prefer to donate discreetly, that’s absolutely fine, and support from businesses further afield would be equally appreciated.

For those who don’t know, The Forge supports people who are homeless, rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness across North Lincolnshire, providing food, practical help, advice and ongoing support to help them move forward.

I only volunteer a few hours a week and try to do my bit by getting local businesses involved and helping where I can, but I can honestly say I’m shocked at some of the things I see and hear.

Ex-military personnel, people with children, young adults and people from all walks of life. It’s mind-blowing at times, and some of the conversations are quite heavy when you sit and listen to what people have been through and the situations they’ve found themselves in.

What shocks me even more is that this is happening right here on our own doorsteps. I don’t think many people realise just how bad things are for some people in our own community until they see it for themselves.

I’m not going to pretend a few sleeping bags will solve homelessness, but they will certainly make a difference to someone facing a cold night outdoors.

If any local businesses could help sponsor some sleeping bags, whether that’s one, five or ten, it would be greatly appreciated and make a genuine difference.

💚 World Mental Health Day

For many of the people who come through our doors, the challenges they’re facing aren’t always visible.

Homelessness, financial difficulties, loneliness, grief and uncertainty can all take a huge toll on someone’s mental health, and sometimes having somewhere safe to go and someone willing to listen really matters.

At The Forge Project, people can come in for a hot meal, a warm drink, practical support or simply some company and a conversation.

World Mental Health Day is a reminder that nobody should feel they have to deal with everything alone.

If you’re struggling, please reach out. There are people who want to help 💚
