Despite the threatening weather, the final Saundersfoot Rotary Sandcastle Competition of the summer was a great success, with around 30 young builders taking part and creating some truly impressive masterpieces on the beach.

The standard of the entries was exceptionally high, giving our judge for the day, the RNLI’s very own Stormy Stan, an extremely difficult task in choosing the winners. Congratulations to all who took part!

The winning builders were presented with their prize – ice creams for four kindly donated by the excellent Hive Honey Ice Cream Parlour. Our sincere thanks to Hive Honey Ice Creams and to everyone who has supported our events throughout the summer.

Don’t forget that the final Saundersfoot Rotary Duck Race of the year takes place on Saundersfoot Harbour this Sunday, 30th August, weather permitting. Ducks will be on sale around the harbour before the race – we look forward to seeing you there!

** AUGUST 30TH DUCK RACE CANCELLED **

Due to tomorrow's weather forecast (and considering today is already looking pretty grim), we have made the hard decision to cancel the final duck race of the season. The ducks can now take a holiday after a brilliant season, which has seen all previous races completely sold out with lots of money raised for good causes. From the bottom of our hearts, Saundersfoot Rotary thanks each and every one of you who has come along and supported the duck races this year, whether purchasing a duck or just coming along to cheer and make it a fantastic atmosphere. We would also like to thank all our guest duck catchers from the different organisations that we work with - what a great community spirit we have. See you all next year for what we hope to be another record season!

What a fantastic success Saundersfoot Rotary’s final Hog Roast of the year proved to be! Continuing our popular cinematic theme, we once again sold out of our delicious hog roast, expertly cooked and served by Tom Rees of the fantastic Reese & Son Butchers of Narberth, before 2.30pm.

Once again The Slipway Ukes provided superb entertainment and kept the crowds dancing.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us today, and indeed throughout all of our hog roasts this summer. Your support has made a real difference, helping us raise valuable funds for local charities, community groups, and organisations supporting people with disabilities.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, enjoyed the food, and helped make this year’s events such a tremendous success. Thank you for supporting your local community and Saundersfoot Rotary.

Yesterday’s Saundersfoot Rotary Sandcastle Competition was another fantastic success, with the beach transformed by some truly magnificent structures and sculptures. The creativity, imagination and effort on display were outstanding, making the judges’ task incredibly difficult.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the event such a memorable day. Congratulations to our winners, who received first prize – ice creams for the whole family, generously donated by the fabulous Hive Honey Ice Cream Parlour.

Tomorrow sees the return of another much-loved Saundersfoot Rotary summer event – the Sandcastle Competition on Saundersfoot Beach! 🏖️🏰

Whether you’re a seasoned sand sculptor or simply enjoy getting creative with a bucket and spade, everyone is welcome to take part. From towering castles and mythical creatures to imaginative seaside masterpieces, we can’t wait to see what our young builders create this year.

Construction begins at 12.30pm, giving competitors plenty of time to craft their creations before judging takes place later in the afternoon.

There are prizes to be won, plenty of fun to be had, and, as always, all proceeds will help support local good causes through the work of Saundersfoot Rotary.

It was another fantastic Sunday on Saundersfoot Harbour, the perfect setting for yet another of Saundersfoot Rotary’s popular duck races.

A record-breaking 1,600 ducks were sold, raising much-needed funds for our good causes. Congratulations to all of our winning ducks and their owners, with Amie Pitt, pictured, claiming second prize of £25.

A huge thank you to our guest duck catchers, Saundersfoot Runners, who provided invaluable support and ensured that not a single duck escaped from the harbour and headed off into the wide blue yonder!

Join us again next Sunday for our final Hog Roast of the summer, and don’t forget that the last duck race of the year will take place on Sunday 30th August.
