🌺🌧️ A little rain wasn’t going to stop these dedicated volunteers!

Despite the less-than-perfect weather, 72 beautiful geraniums were planted in the two planters at Ocean Square, Saundersfoot, bringing a vibrant splash of colour to the heart of our village.

The flowers were jointly sponsored by Saundersfoot Wombles and Saundersfoot Rotary, with a fantastic team effort from Rachel (Wombles), Ray and John (Rotary), and Phil, who proudly wears both Womble and Rotary hats!

A special thank you also goes to Julie Davies (behind the camera and out of shot), who expertly coordinated both the plants and the people! 📸😀

This is another wonderful example of local volunteers working together to make Saundersfoot an even brighter and more welcoming place for everyone.

One of the highlights of the Saundersfoot Rotary year is organising a magical day out to Folly Farm for local schoolchildren.

This year, 60 pupils from Greenhill, Saundersfoot, Sageston and Stepaside schools are enjoying an action-packed day filled with fun, adventure and learning. For many of these young people, it was a rare opportunity to explore, play and discover new experiences outside the classroom, creating special memories that will last a lifetime.

The day began early for Saundersfoot Rotary members, who were busy preparing packed lunches for all 60 pupils — with a few extra included for the teachers! The club also provided every student with a wristband giving unlimited access to the rides throughout the day.

A wonderful day is being had by all, and it was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces enjoying this fantastic experience.

Saundersfoot Rotary would like to extend its sincere thanks to everyone at Folly Farm for their warm welcome and continued support in helping make this special day possible. Their generosity and commitment to creating memorable experiences for local children are greatly appreciated.

Saundersfoot Rotary would like to extend our sincere thanks to The Hean Castle Estate and the Lotus Drivers Club West Wales for their incredible generosity and support.

Each May, the Lotus Drivers Club visits Saundersfoot and holds a collection among its members for a charity chosen by The Hean Castle Estate. We were honoured to be selected as this year’s beneficiary.

Recently, Rotarians gathered at Coppet Hall Beach Centre, where David Boneham from Lotus Drivers Club West Wales presented a very generous donation of £700 to Saundersfoot Rotary.

This fantastic contribution will help us continue to organise and support charitable events, community projects and activities throughout the year for the benefit of our local community.

Thank you to everyone involved, especially The Hean Castle Estate and the Lotus Drivers Club, for helping us make a positive difference in Saundersfoot and beyond.

Volunteers' Week: Celebrating the Rotary Team and Our Community Volunteers

As we celebrate National Volunteers' Week, Saundersfoot Rotary Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the Members and Friends of Rotary as well as other members of the public and organisations who support us for their commitment, dedication, and generosity.

Whether you volunteer your time, share your expertise, support our fundraising activities, make donations, or help spread the word about our projects, you are an essential part of the Rotary team. Your efforts help us make a positive difference in the lives of others, both within our community and beyond.

We are incredibly grateful for the service you give and the enthusiasm you bring to everything we do. Together, you help turn good intentions into meaningful action, and your support is truly appreciated.

During this special week, we would also like to pay tribute to the many other volunteer groups and organisations in Saundersfoot. They are too numerous to name individually, but each contributes enormously to the wellbeing and vitality of our village. Through their dedication, compassion, and hard work, they help support those in need, strengthen community spirit, and enhance the place we are proud to call home.

Together, all our volunteer groups make a real difference. Through service, kindness, and community action, we help others and strive to make Saundersfoot the very best place to live, work, and visit.

To every volunteer, thank you. Your contribution matters, and our community is stronger because of you.

Saundersfoot Rotary would like to extend its sincere thanks to Nicola Gandy for all her support and assistance during her tenure as CEO of Saundersfoot Harbour.

Nicola has been a tremendous asset and an inspiring leader, whose dedication and professionalism have been greatly appreciated by the community and our club alike. She will be sorely missed.

Everyone at Saundersfoot Rotary wishes Nicola all the very best and every success in her next venture. We also hope she enjoys the fuchsia presented to her as a parting gift on the harbour this afternoon.

What a fantastic start to Saundersfoot Rotary’s summer events calendar!

Our first event, the Sandcastle Competition, took place under cloudless skies and glorious sunshine. We were delighted to welcome such a huge number of enthusiastic builders that we even had to expand the competition area — and the quality of the creations was simply magnificent throughout.

A huge thank you to The Hive Ice Cream Parlour for generously donating the first prize of honey ice creams for a family of four, and to Crêp Da for providing delicious goodies for our runners-up.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a wonderful success!

The weather is scorching here on the beach so don’t forget that Saundersfoot Rotary’s first sandcastle competition of the year starts at 10 am with judging taking place at midday.
