Call Directions

The Wonky Donkey Community Farm CIC The Wonky Donkey is now closed to the public. Thank you to everyone who supported us over the years. Emma and James ❤️

Your kindness, generosity, and support will never be forgotten. We are a farm animal sanctuary, we take in donkeys, ponies, sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens, ponies etc that people can no longer look after, may have been mistreated, neglected, orphaned etc. We work with these animals to bring them out of their shells into confident, friendly, loveable creatures that people can enjoy. We offer our animals as a therapy to lots of groups from disabled, people with mental health issues, people with dementia, vulnerable children...the list is endless. We find that people can really relate to these animals, especially if they have a similar difficult background. Animals listen but don't judge and this in itself can be so therapeutic for someone who doesn't want to off load to a person. All our animals have their own story and we find that they can help so many people in different ways. We want to not just take in these animals but offer them to our local community to enjoy aswell 🙂

Out for cocktails tonight because life's too short to be sensible! 🍹🍸

A few cocktails, a questionable amount of dignity and absolutely no intention of making good decisions. 😂

We're currently operating on the basis that calories don't count when there's an umbrella in the glass, and tomorrow's hangover is a problem for tomorrow's stupid bastards that are lying on the sofa with a hangover wishing we had a local takeaway or shop that didn't require driving to get a much needed 'cure'. 🤪

If anyone needs us, we'll either be on the dancefloor, talking absolute bo****ks or, at the end of the night, trying to work out how the f**k we've ended up taking home another donkey or sheep or stray cat!🫏 😂

🚨😂 WELL, THIS HAS TAKEN A TURN! 😂🚨

You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried! 🤣🍿

Earlier today, a local press report appeared about a local reviewer, and I commented on the question of how independent a review can be when the reviewer has disclosed receiving expenses in exchange for prioritised visits.

Now, I thought that was a perfectly reasonable question to ask. After all, if you're reviewing local businesses, surely transparency and impartiality matter? 🤷‍♀️

Apparently, though, my opinion has earned me a new hobby for someone else. AJ has taken it upon himself to venture over to our page, have a good old rummage through our history, and start questioning everything from our CIC status to whether our page information needs changing. 😂

I've also made a tongue-in-cheek post on OUR OWN PAGE, joking about the whole situation. No names, no tagging anyone. Just me expressing my opinion, having a bit of a laugh and being my usual sarcastic self. 🫣😂

And here we are, all in the space of ONE DAY! 🤣

AJ has now shared my post, and we're welcoming a few new faces to the page who seem very keen to tell us what they think of us. Hello, welcome! 👋😂 The kettle's on, although I should warn you that we don't offer expenses or guarantee five-star reviews for the tea! ☕🤣

Let's get one thing straight. I'm allowed an opinion. You're allowed an opinion. We don't all have to agree, and that's absolutely fine.

My original point was about transparency and whether reviews can genuinely be considered independent when expenses are received in exchange for prioritised visits. It's a perfectly reasonable subject to debate.

But apparently, rather than simply disagreeing with me, we've moved on to investigating the history and legal status of our CIC. 😂

For clarity, the CIC is still operating, we still have rescue animals in our care, and we'll formally close the organisation when we move. We're no longer fundraising or welcoming visitors. There. Mystery solved. No conspiracy, no secret organisation, just a farm winding down while we prepare for the next chapter of our lives. 🤷‍♀️

And as for the people arriving here because somebody has shared my post, please remember that you're visiting a page belonging to people who have spent years working hard for animals and our community. You don't have to like me, agree with me or even follow the page. That's your choice.

But if you're expecting me to stop expressing my opinions because somebody doesn't like them, you might be waiting a while! 🤣

I've never claimed to be everyone's cup of tea. I'm probably more of a strong coffee with a questionable attitude. ☕😂

Anyway, if anyone genuinely wants to review our farm, I'm afraid you're a bit late. The animals have moved on, we're not open to visitors, and the donkeys have left the building! 🫏😂

Now, can we get back to the important things in life? Like deciding who's making the next brew and why everything seems to require a bloody committee meeting on Facebook! 🤣🤣

What a bloody drip I am......apparently forgetting that we live in a society of free speech 😂😂😂😂

Thinking of jumping on the bandwagon and offering to come and review all the local places to eat and stay in return for a 5 star review......apparently you can offer an unbiased, blown away review and get expenses for doing it!! Absolutely bonkers 🫣🙄😂

Urgent Appeal As Blackwood Man Fights Stage 4 Cancer And Desperately Seeks Treatment Options 💙🙏🏻

The family of a 30-year-old man from Blackwood is issuing a heartfelt plea for awareness as he continues his brave battle against stage 4 Nasopharyngeal cancer.

Ioan Thomas recently received the devastating news that his immunotherapy has stopped working and the nodules in his lungs have grown again.

He is now moving onto a new chemotherapy treatment which offers a 60 to 70% chance of a response.

His cousin, Hayley Jenkins, says Ioan is fighting with incredible strength and their entire family is doing everything they can to support him.

His biggest request right now is simply awareness. Ioan is desperately trying to find any information on potential treatments abroad that may help his specific type of cancer.

The family is asking the public to share his story as widely as possible.

They hope that increased visibility might connect them to someone who knows about alternative medical options.

Please share this post to support Ioan and his family, and to help them reach as many people as possible during this incredibly difficult time.
