We’re a volunteer-run Non for profit charity bookshop dedicated to making reading free to everyone. Each person is welcome to take up to three books per day.

• 1 in 3 parents cannot read to their children.
• 3.87 million children do not own a single book
• 4 million children live in poverty

At the Global Educational Trust, we believe that education and literacy skills help individuals lead a happy and successful life, and needless to say, provide the opportunity for people to become leaders, pioneers and visionaries which is ultimately beneficial to us all. Today we celebrate the life of Dolly Parton.

Dolly Parton's life was a testament to her talent, resilience, and generosity. Born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, she grew up in a family deeply rooted in music. Parton's passion for music was evident from a young age, and she began performing at a young age. Her career took off when she moved to Nashville, where she became a protégée of Porter Wagoner and gained national recognition. Parton's music career was marked by hits like "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," and "9 to 5," which became anthems for many. Beyond music, Parton was a businesswoman, co-owning the Dollywood theme park and developing the Imagination Library, which distributed over 300 million free books to children worldwide. Her philanthropic efforts and cultural impact have made her a national treasure and a symbol of hope and inspiration.

In a world full of chaos we need more people like Dolly ❤️

Hi guys, hope you all managed to observe the eclipse? one of our supporters said, he didn't have a pair of Solar Glasses so tried to view it through a Colander, ended up straining himself 😅

Edited to add a huge thank you to Gorton Primary School part ofVantage Academy Trust for their support with 12 boxes of children's books 🥰

Just to to let you know it's makers market day this coming Sunday 16th and the get free books bookshop stall will be Stanley Square Saleale from about 10.30am to hopefully 4.00pm .

Took the get free books bookshop out to Urmston and introduced it to the people.

Beautiful sunny day and decided to stop off at this little hidden gem of a place for a brew and slice of cake 🥰

What better place to get away from the noise, be in a relaxed quiet place, sun shining a cheeky cold drink, ice cream or a brew while reading a good book 🥰

If you are planning a visit, use the postcode M41 9JA turn off Queens Road, onto Eeasbrook, follow the lane down past the Scout Hut, you will reach the public car park, it's directly opposite! 👍
