Last week we celebrated our 4th year as the Goodafternooners with a delicious lunch. This year we have sadly said bye bye to a few members but this has allowed us to welcome some new ones off our waiting list
Our 2026/27 programme hopes to deliver enjoyable lively meetings with a mixture of activities, speakers and demonstrations .

20 ladies from our History group visited Salford Museum and Larkhill Place. Such an interesting local landmark with lots of eclectic collections ,beautiful Peel Park at the back and the cafe do a lovely lunch too .Great day out

Today Goodafternooners WI History group enjoyed a "behind the scenes" tour at the beautiful Art Deco Stockport Plaza followed by a delicious lunch in their cafe .The history of this stunning venue is amazing and it was so nearly lost for ever but for the determination of a group of local people who knew it had to be saved from being demolished and turned into a car park !

Last Friday was our first meeting of 2026 and it did not disappoint ! 70 members had fun getting to know one another a bit more by playing "Who am I " followed by a game of bingo.All finished off by the usual home baked cakes and hot drinks . Thanks to our talented crafter's £180 was raised for charity too .

What a fantastic way to kick off the seasonal festivities with our WI Christmas lunch .
Thankyou to all the staff at The Boathouse, Sale Waterpark who served up a delicious 3 course meal to our very large group with ease and a smile .
