Based on a nationally representative survey of 3,014 UK adults, it highlights the difference free and independent advice makes to people's situations and wellbeing, and that the public sees trained advisers as central to that.
The findings reveal growing use of AI for information about money, benefits, housing and legal problems, alongside concerns about accuracy and a strong preference for human advice when problems become complex.

🔹81% agree AI cannot replace a human adviser for complex or sensitive problems.
🔹77% agree AI can help advice services support more people but should not be the only source of advice.
🔹74% worry about receiving incorrect or misleading advice from an AI tool.
🔹 71% say they would trust a free, independent adviser more than an AI tool.
🔹34% had already used an AI tool for advice or information about a personal issue, while a further 35% were open to doing so.
