OurJay fundraising was set up following the loss of our precious Jamie, January 2022. We are raising funds to purchase desperately needed outdoor accessible defibrillators, to be sited at locations around Rugby. These life saving pieces of equipment are vital, even more so in Rugby, where there are currently catastrophic ambulance response times.

Doctors orders, the last one for a couple of months. Naomi found out yesterday that she has some tendon damage in both her shoulders, so we won’t be doing anymore CPR sessions before seeing the results of her scans (likely to be January). Sometimes it’s better to stop and make sure no more damage is caused, than to carry on and risk not being able to do so these vital CPR sessions permanently. OurJays team have had some stern words with Naomi and she has taken the advice seriously 💜

We went to talk to a local Motorhome/caravan meet today.
The MCS group purchased their own group defibrillator through OurJay Foundation, so today we went along to do a CPR/Defibrillator Information and Awareness session and to make sure, they’re all confident in using life saving skills, if they ever need to.
The group were fantastic and we managed to answer a lot of the questions that they had.
Their defibrillator is rescue ready and their group all felt so much more confident after our session and after having a go at CPR on Chandler and Phoebe.
It was lovely to see you all and thank you for having us 💙🩵💙

As you all know, we love to work with other charities, it's just something that we know our Jamie would also love.

Recently, Gillian, David and all at Rugby Saturday Breakfast Rotary Club, during Gill's presidential year, raised funds for OurJay Foundation (Gill and David are a huge support for OurJay). They asked us to use these funds to help towards defibrillators in Rugby that would help others. So, when we were approached by Grace at Barnardo's Retail Online Hub, to say they had done some fundraising, but needed some extra help, we straight away knew what we could do. OurJay, Rugby Saturday Breakfast Rotary Club and Barnardos all collaborated and we've managed to achieve this OurJay community accessible defibrillator at Triton Park, Swift Valley, Rugby.

We all went to Barnardo's to meet Jon and the rest of the team yesterday and we were blown away by everything they do and all the children they help.
These accessible defibrillators are always such proud achievements, but working with Gill, David, Margaret, Grace and Jon, has truly felt special.

Jamie, you know we will always make sure your legacy shines bright and we know that you'll be looking at this one and smiling your beautiful smile. When I saw your little face on this defib cabinet yesterday, it just reminded me again, how such a simple piece of equipment could've meant you were still here with me and just for that split second I felt anger. I know you hated anger, so I made it go away very quickly and I forced myself to remember how we keep moving forward and we keep changing things, just how you'd want us to. I just miss you so much darling boy 💙🩵💙

Onto another CPR/Defibrillator Information and Awareness session this evening, with members of Rugby Round Table.
We are supporting Rugby Round Table with The Rugby Fireworks Show this year and they have kindly donated an amazing £1200 to OurJay for a community accessible defibrillator (site tbc).
We talked a lot tonight about CPR and the use of defibrillators, on adults and children, as well as some important conversations around the awful statistic, that 30% less females get CPR, because people are cautious of exposing females chests.
With out of hospital cardiac arrest survival rates of less than 10% in the UK, it is so vital that these conversations take place and people are confident to use life saving skills…on men, woman and children.
Doing something is better than doing nothing!

What a kind group of people I spent some time with today. The residents of Ferrieres Close, Rugby have recently had an OurJay community accessible defibrillator installed, so I went along to talk to them about the importance of bystander CPR and defibrillators, in cardiac emergencies.
It was emotional, but lots of important questions answered and I felt honoured to have been able to spend some time with such lovely people 💙

Alison decided that she wanted to do something special to celebrate her milestone birthday and to raise funds for OurJay……
SO SHE WALKED 50km IN ONE DAY!

We’d like to say congratulations and a huge thank you to Alison for completing the Thames Path Ultra Challenge and raising an amazing £700 for Jamie’s foundation.

Hi folks
We just wanted to share some good news with you all.
An emergency incident in Coventry yesterday, resulted in one of the defibrillators, we supported with, being used.
Thankfully the person involved was saved with bystander CPR and the defibrillator and he is now recovering.
We’ve sent replacement pads out today, so the defibrillator will be back emergency ready tomorrow 💙🩵💙

We just wanted to pop on and tell you all about 2 new OurJay community accessible defibrillators, that are now installed and emergency ready.

The first is on the outside of the Virgin MediaO2 store on Southgate Street in Bath city centre. This defibrillator was made community accessible by O2, after previously being kept inside the store. OurJay work with Jay, VirginMediaO2 & Solutions Diverse, to ensure as many of their stores as possible, are able to move their defibs into community accessible OurJay cabinets. This defib cabinet also contains a bleed control kit. That’s 2 life saving pieces of equipment now available 24/7 in emergency situations 💙

The second is on the outside of McDonald's, Eastbound A14, Rothwell. As you all know, Jamie’s absolute favourite was a 5 piece select meal, with 2 bbq sauces…so all the McDonalds accessible defib installations are very special to us. We’d like to thank Jamie (another Jamie) from Rothwell McDonalds, for his support in getting another restaurant more heart safe with us 💙

Our darling Jamie, we know which one you’ll be visiting tonight! We’re so so proud of you precious boy. We’ll keep fighting for change, you keep showing us where next 💙🩵💙

It was really nice to meet Adam Henson at the WI Federation Annual Meeting today. Thank you to our good friend Claire Whitehead-Wall, who kindly introduced us to Adam.
We were also so proud to deliver our CPR/Defibrillator Information and Awareness and demonstrations to so many lovely women at the event. We talked a lot about the importance of bystander CPR in cardiac emergencies and also how defibrillators can be used by anyone.
Lots of brilliant questions answered and confidence built 💙🩵💙
