Lowhills Animal Sanctuary Lowhills Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organisation in Rugby, Warwickshire. Est: 2005 LAS currently has 5 sanctuary cats that live here on a permanent basis.

Lowhills Animal Sanctuary (Formally The Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Society) was founded in 2005 by Sophie Peacock. LAS is a non-profit specialised sanctuary and rescue based in Rugby currently only caring for cats due to having a small space for the rescue and sanctuary. Tha sanctuary side takes care of cats that are unable to be rehomed due to on-going medical reasons, age, have specific needs or can't live in a normal household. All cats in need of a new home will be posted with their details and homes they will be looking for. All homes are homechecked and donations apply. LAS operates a non-destruction policy unless our vets have said otherwise and all other options have been considered and exhausted. LAS rehabilitates using positive reinforcement, learning theory and science based methods to try and give the animal a chance at being rehomed. LAS occasionally has dogs, chickens, horses and other animals depending on space and being able to fulfill those animals needs. Lowhills Animal Sanctuary have had a hard time in 2020 with both fundraising and rehoming due to Covid-19, if you would like to make a monetary donation, our PayPal is [email protected] (friends and family option so we don't get charged) and our Amazon Wishlist is here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/I47B7VH15MS4?ref_=wl_share

LAS is located in a residential property so viewing, when we are able is by appointment only. Donations of cat food, toys, litter, scratch posts etc are very welcome, please send a message and collection can be made or a drop off point is available.

🐈‍⬛ Sweep 🐈‍⬛

A very sweet 1 - 2 year old female who was a hungry street cat and had a litter before coming here. She was at one stage in a home, maybe as a kitten as she is extremely friendly and loves a cuddle.

She sadly doesn't like other cats, she will tolerate cats near her but she definitely doesn't want to live with one.

She would be happy in a home that can give lots of fuss and is great with all ages. She is a little shy at first but she's an absolute darling 💖

She's neutered, chipped and vaccinated.

Get in touch if you would like to view her.

🐈‍⬛ Sooty 🐈‍⬛

Aged between 1 and 2 years old, this handsome boy is super sweet, a little timid to begin with but gives the most beautiful kisses and head rubs.

As he's been in a couple of fights with other cats when he was on the streets as an entire male making him a little scared of them so he would need to be an only cat in the home and maybe have an indoor home too.

If you would like to come and meet him, he would love it but he would be a little scared to begin with, so please give him a chance by maybe viewing him twice 🙏

He's neutered, chipped and vaccinated.

🐈 Beautiful Penny 🐈

At approximately 1 year old, this little lady has already been through so much including having kittens and an operation for an ectopic pregnancy and neutered and chipped at the same time. She's come through the other side absolutely lovely 😍

She's friendly, playful, sweet, loving and everything you'd want from a cat. She's not keen on other cats, so we're looking for a pet free home.

Please get in touch if you would like her to join your family.

For the first time in years we are officially closing the intake of cats to Lowhills Animal Sanctuary. Over the past week, we've taken in 13 new cats and kittens.

We've got one adult cat currently in the vets undergoing surgery for an ectopic pregnancy, this would have been her 5th litter and she's only 3 years old. Her kittens were being sold for drug money.

If you know anyone that genuinely wants to adopt a cat, please help us by sharing their profiles when they appear on our page. A few of them aren't ready just yet, but Sooty and Sweep are and their profiles are active.

If you're looking for a cat and don't live near a busy road, please get in touch to see if we have a cat available to suit you.

I was called to trap a mum cat who had kittens in a garden, she was terrified but she needed to be caught so that she didn't take her kittens off again, so a trap was set for her.

Not long after setting the trap and getting the food ready, quite a few other young adult cats appeared, all around the same age who were starving and ended up going in the trap before mum.

I wasn't going to leave them behind as they were all entire male and females and they had no chips and were starving, so these two ended up coming back with me to the sanctuary.

Please meet Sooty (black) and Sweep (black and white)

Sooty is still a nervous boy but so loving when he calms down. He has learnt to sit on a lap but he currently still gets excited and rubs his head all around your face 🥹 He's going to make a lovely cat for someone. He's about a year old, neutered, chipped and vaccinated and would suit an adult home with possibly older children and no other pets.

Sweep is gorgeous 😍 A little petite girl who is affectionate and calm. She will suit most households most likely but no other pets.

Please message or e-mail [email protected] with a bit about yourselves and where you live.

Beautiful semi-feral flirty went to the vets to be neutered today, she's from a colony on a housing estate that missed the last round of neuterings. No more babies for you!

She was very annoyed at me yesterday and this morning but was an angel for the vets 😆

She'll spend a few days recovering with me and then head back to her friends.
