We're a team of volunteers who provide first aid at events, train the public, and inspire the next generation of lifesavers in our Badger, Cadet and Adult units in Atherstone, Bedworth, Nuneaton & Rugby.

Congratulations to 3 of our cadets who have this weekend passed their Community First Aider course! 👏👏👏 This is the same level of training that our adult volunteers complete so it's no easy task! Well done Abigail, Erin & Mileka!!! 💪🎉👏

What an incredible achievement! With just two weeks of planning, the Rugby cadets have planned and ran a community event, led by Mayor of Rugby Cadet Corporal Josh. As a collective, they have done continuous for 6hours and 28 minutes!!! Not only that, but they've raised an incredible £1042.20 (so far) for 𝐎𝐮𝐫𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!!! There are going to be some sore hands tomorrow!!! It was made extra special when mi55moneypenny dropped by to surprise the cadets! Well done to you all for a really awesome achievement!!

When Nicholas contacted us to let us know that St John Ambulance North and East Warwickshire cadets and badgers were doing a CPRathon to raise funds for OurJay, we were so so grateful.
Josh from SJA, who is also the Mayor of Rugby cadet, had been tasked with planning a community event and he, along with all the cadets, chose OurJay to donate the funds raised from this event to.
We are absolutely blown away, to tell you all that this fantastic CPRathon has raised £1042.20 (so far). THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH 💙
We were invited along this evening to surprise the troops and also to take part. 3 hours of solid CPR and they’re all still smiling!! 💪🏼💪🏼

This event is fantastic for raising awareness of the importance of CPR and also acts a reminder to always check where your nearest community accessible defibrillator is. Remember…doing something is always better than doing nothing! 💙🩵💙

to our newly appointed and promoted NCOs who join a brilliant team of young leaders in our Rugby Cadet Group. 🎉 Pictured with their proud Cadet Group Lead Ginny are corporals Abigail, Freya & Josh with sergeants Jack, Megan & Tyler! 🫡 To be promoted as a cadet they must each attend residential courses in leadership training and pass a selection process within the group! Well done team!!! 👏

💚 National Cadet Week – celebrating our St John Cadets! 💚

This week is , and while the campaign shines a spotlight on young people across the UK’s cadet forces, we think it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate some pretty amazing young people of our own!

Across St John Ambulance North & East Warwickshire, our Cadets are learning skills that could one day save a life, building confidence, making new friends and giving their time to support their communities. 🚑

From learning first aid and taking part in community projects, to supporting events alongside our adult volunteers, our Cadets continually show enthusiasm, compassion and a willingness to help others.

And it’s about so much more than first aid.

Being a St John Cadet gives young people opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, communication and resilience, skills that can stay with them long after their time as a Cadet.

So during National Cadet Week, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to every St John Cadet across our network and the wider organisation 💚

We’re incredibly proud of everything you achieve and, most importantly, of the young people you are becoming.

👏 Here’s to the next generation of lifesavers.

Atherstone, we are re-writing history!

This photograph was recently shared with us showing members of the former St John Ambulance Atherstone Division supporting their local community.

Years later, we’re preparing to bring St John Ambulance Cadets back to , and this time, you could be part of the story.

Before we can welcome our first Cadets through the doors, we need to build the team of adults who will lead and support them.

💚 Youth Leaders – helping to lead the group, plan activities and guide our Cadets through their St John journey.

💚 Youth Helpers – supporting our Leaders and helping to create a safe, welcoming and inspiring place for young people.

Previous experience isn’t essential. We’ll provide training, guidance and support along the way.

Atherstone has done this before. Now we need a new generation of volunteers to help us do it again.

This weekend we were the host network for 1 for Warwickshire & Coventry. An intense, educational yet fun packed weekend giving our future young leaders the knowledge and confidence to grow and to push themselves! Seeing the transformation over the weekend, and being a part of their journey is a privilege. Thank you to all the youth leaders from all across the region who gave up their time to run the course and to our County Commissioner and Cadet of the Year for being guests of honour at the passing out parade!

Could you help bring something back to Atherstone? 💚

A St John Ambulance Cadet Group is coming (back) to Atherstone, but first, we need Youth Leaders and Youth Helpers to help us build its foundations once again.

Years ago, A group was based in , based at Clarke’s Yard off Station Road.

Among the many activities, awards and opportunities Atherstone Cadets took part in was the North Area Warwickshire Bedmaking Competition for 11–14-year-olds. 🛏️

And they were rather good at it!

🏆 1997 – Atherstone

Bedmaking might sound a little unusual today, but it was an important skill promoting cleanliness, care and wellbeing.

Things have changed a little since then…

As a Youth Leader, you’ll help shape our modern-day Cadets and guide them through opportunities locally and nationally, including subjects towards their Grand Prior’s Award, such as:

🏕️ Adventure Skills – practical outdoor skills, challenges, planning and teamwork.

🎭 Casualty Simulation – creating realistic injuries and scenarios to bring first-aid training to life.

🌍 Celebrating Difference – exploring diversity, inclusion and understanding other people’s experiences.

And that’s just a small part of what being a Cadet can offer.

Atherstone had a proud Cadet history. Now we need a new generation of adult volunteers to help write its next chapter.

Maybe your children are getting older. Maybe you’ve reached a point in life where you have the time to give something back. Or perhaps you simply want to do something worthwhile in your local community.

We’re building the adult team who will help us open a brand-new St John Ambulance Cadet group in , and you could be part of it from day one.

What we’re looking for are reliable, committed adults who can encourage young people, work as part of a team and help create somewhere our future Cadets can learn, grow and thrive.

We’re particularly looking for Youth Leaders who can help lead and shape the new group, alongside Youth Helpers who will form the supporting team.

You will be supported and given all of the training needed to make this as memorable for you as it will be for the young people you will be shaping, whilst being supported by our established youth team.
