They made it! Over 20 of our Scouts and Young Leaders braved the cold down at the Moor, last night for the Big Tommy Sleep Out, raising money for military veterans rebuilding their lives after service.

During March, the Scouts will be sleeping outside for a night as part of the Great Tommy Sleep Out, to raise awareness and funds for veterans from the armed forces.

Our fundraising will go towards providing safe homes, mental health support and a pathway back to independence for those veterans who need it.

Next week I am having my head and beard shaved to raise money for my scout group, 1st Orwell.
We are raising money to build a new storage hut, and we're about £5,000 short of our target - so every pound helps at this stage to get us over the line!
We don't have a building of our own, or anywhere sensible to store our equipment. It's stashed in trailers, in leaders' garages & lofts, and crammed into a small shed on the primary school field. Finding and accessing our stuff is time-consuming and things get lost. And the kit is at risk of damp, mould and damage from being inappropriately stored.
We have planning permission for large storage hut in Melbourn that will store all of our kit properly, in the dry and securely, in one place.
I've had a beard for 12 years - my children have never known me without one. My hair is shoulder length...but not for long! On Friday 21st November, I will let my Beavers colony help with shaving it ALL off, and I want you to sponsor me to do so!
