What is your personal challenge for 2025?

Every year thousands of individuals set themselves a personal challenge in aid of a good cause, such as a sponsored run, cycle, swim, or climb. Not only is this hugely rewarding personally, but it is invaluable to small charities like the Victoria Cohen Eye Cancer Charitable Trust. Eye cancer is a rare yet terrible disease and there are not enough ocular oncologists in the world. Choose us as your charity for your personal challenge, and you will help to save the lives, eyes and vision of countless people. We exist to support aspiring ocular oncologists with the cost of their education. Training to become an eye surgeon takes many years, and not everyone who has the desire or ability has the means to fund their fellowship, especially in low-income countries. As a small charity we have next to no costs and you can see exactly where your money goes; your support will help someone become an eye surgeon. Get in the Christmas spirit with the Victoria Cohen Eye Cancer Charitable Trust!

Our ‘Dickensian Christmas Carol Concert’ is returning to The Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, Smithfield, London, EC1A 9DS, on Monday 2nd December.

This magical evening includes nine readings and carols, all with a Dickensian theme, which will be sure to get you in the Christmas spirit! Mulled wine and mince pies are served in the cloisters after the concert, before some head to the pub next door to continue the festivities.

This is a very important event which raises awareness of both eye cancer and funds for the Victoria Cohen Eye Cancer Charitable Trust.

We are keen to fill the church; please invite family, friends, colleagues, and clients, and feel free to share this email. The more the merrier!

If you are unavailable on 2nd December, don’t worry, you can still buy tickets and donate them to staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where Victoria was the Director of the Ocular Oncology department. If you wish to donate your tickets, just let me know, and we will inform Moorfields, thank you.
