SWCC was established in March 2011 to help fundraise for essential work both home and abroad. It is a registered charity, number 1145477, that raises funds and educates people about conservation projects worldwide. SWCC founded the SWCC Hedgehog Hospital in November 2012, and continues to fund its ongoing work. The hospital cost approximately £70,000 to build, which the charity funded through a pr

ivate loan on a 10-year repayment basis. The board of trustees currently employ staff to manage the hospital on a day-to-day basis on their behalf, and the SWCC Staff manage a volunteer team who are essential to the work and success of the hospital. The board continue to meet regularly to discuss and implement management and funding strategies.
