Grimm & Co, a charity that champions the writer in every child. Changing lives one story at a time.

We are a Yorkshire charity, championing the writer in every young person (7-18) through the joyful discovery of stories. Our story centre and imagination gym can only be accessed through the secret door of our 'Apothecary to the Magical', selling wit, humour, awe and wonder to all magical beings + an occasional human! All proceeds go to our charitable work to help us to reach and engage young people and inspire a new confidence and motivation to write! We are based in Rotherham town centre but we are Yorkshire wide.

We had a spellbinding time exploring the spooky side of autumn in this week’s Curiouser and Curiouser Halloween Double Trouble session! 🎃🍂

From crunchy leaves and pumpkins to all things orange and making our very own fluffy loo roll bats, we dived into the wonderfully quirky story, If I Had a Vampire Bat by Gabby Dawnay and Alex Barrow. 🦇

Bursting with playful rhymes and super-cute illustrations, it was the perfect book for a little Halloween fun with little ones.

It’s also Story Sharer Week, a BookTrust initiative celebrating the joy of sharing stories and inspiring a lifelong love of reading.

As we celebrate Black History Month, we’re also taking the opportunity to celebrate diverse voices, creativity and the wonderful range of stories that help children explore the world around them.

✨ “A magical world where kids’ dreams come true.” - The Mirror ✨

We’re absolutely delighted to be featured in today’s Daily Mirror following a recent visit from the newly appointed Chair of Arts Council England , Dawn Airey CBE.

Dawn captured the magic of Grimm & Co beautifully, saying: “Here, you can feel the imagination oozing out of every pore.”

It's not just the magic that makes Grimm & Co so special - it’s the difference it makes to our community.

Rotherham local Marilyn Moreman, 80, has lived in the town all her life. She describes her first visit to our magical world as a moment of pure wonder, saying: “What Grimm & Co have done here is unbelievable. When it opened and we walked in, we just gasped at how beautiful it was. It absolutely captured the whole spirit of Grimm, and the fairy tales.”

Marilyn also helps run a breakfast club for adults while children explore our magical realm. As she puts it: “I can't express enough what Grimm & Co has done for Rotherham. It’s the only place children are allowed to be themselves.”

We’re so proud to see the magic of Grimm & Co, our wonderful community and the power of imagination celebrated in the national press.

Our Spooky Silent Disco Storytelling is back and even spookier than ever 🎃🪩
Come on down to Grimm & Co, Saturday 31st October for any of our disco sessions running at 10am, 11.15am, 1pm and 2.15pm

Tickets cost £5.00 per child participating for each 45 minute session.

This is perfect for those aged 3+ but is open to all who would enjoy an immersive sensory experience and storytelling. Please note your young person will need to feel comfortable wearing headphones.
