RCSC are proud to support Power of 10 and we currently have 8 young people who collectively have 1190 hours between them!

Exam results don’t show how kind, creative, helpful, resilient, and reliable someone is. Volunteering can be a real boost to self-esteem, helping you realise that you have different strengths and talents.

Congratulations to all the young volunteers who have achieved their Power of 10 volunteering awards - giving over an amazing 3,500 hours to our Ripon community! 🤩✨

Thank you to local schools including Outwood Academy Ripon Mowbray Academy Ripon Grammar School and Outwood Primary Academy Greystone for encouraging students to explore new opportunities - and to Harrogate College who we're excited to be working with this term.

We're proud to be working with our friends at Ripon YMCA supporting the new Ripon youth council giving young people a local voice and of our Power of 10 young ambassadors helping to drive this work forward.

Remember to thank and recognise young people making a contribution at the Ripon Together St Wilfrids Stars Awards, a lovely event Ripon Cathedral 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Thank you to Harrogate Advertiser Ripon Gazette for continuing to share positive news and support local volunteering. 👍

A BIG thank you and well done to everyone involved in the St Wilfrid’s procession yesterday. It was such a good day, laughs and smiles all round.
Special thanks to:
⭐️Ripon Farm Services for providing us with a wagon at short notice and giving us space to build the float under cover.
⭐️St Wilfrids Procession for keeping the passion for the procession alive and organising the event for us all to enjoy.
⭐️Nicola Horner who says every year this is the last! We love you, don’t stop doing what you do so well.
⭐️Anna Horner, Lucy Horner and Olivia Horner who have spent their lives being Nicola’s assistants, helpers, visionaries and collaborators. You three have done her proud and every year take on more of the task. Here’s to next year.
⭐️The children who come on all of the floats and get stuck in. It’s not easy and the deserve our respect.
⭐️The supporters, residents and visitors without your support we would not have the procession. Your cheers keep us dancing when our feet hurt, singing when our throats are sore and partying whatever the weather.

See you all next year 🪶

This week marks a very important week in the run up to summer- Drowning prevention week.

This week children have been learning about water safety:
Stop and think - is it safe🤔
Stay together - don’t go alone👭👬
Tell an adult where you are going and when you will return 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️🕧🕟
Float to live ⭐️🐟
Call for help, 999- ask for coast guard 🛟🚤🚁

Everyone can play a part in preventing the risk of drowning, from knowing some basic first aid, how to call for help or being aware of the dangers water can pose and how to keep yourself, family and friends safe.

Check out the link for more information and have a chat with those around you about staying safe near water.

We've created a fantastic range of materials and videos that you can share with your friends and family. By spreading these important messages, you can help others enjoy water safely. Ways to get involved: Download our templates and resources Share them on social media with the hashtags ...
