Such a lot to shout about in the next half term!!

We have our usual clubs and groups starting next Tuesday with Spark in the park - come along for 5-a-side football and make a marshmallow tower!

Our Big Gay Picnic is taking place on 30th June. A Youth Pride Event for all LGBTQ+ young people and allies.

Volunteers give much much more than just their time...they give encouragement, laughter, skills & energy...and we love them for it!

This week we're celebrating the incredible people who show up for young people, whether helping with activities, cooking, organising and supporting our tenants, or any of the other amazing things they do!

Weekly Round Up!

Our weekly round up comes a little later this week after our trip to York Pride yesterday 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

On Tuesday we had our Young Leaders training, where young people aged 13 to 17 learn important life skills and get involved in exciting opportunities across Ripon. A highlight was definitely our spin on Pictionary where young people tested their communication skills and much silliness ensued.

On Wednesday at You Matter brunch was on the menu, always a firm favourite ! 🍳

Thunderstorms on Thursday morning looked like they might put a dampener on our Picnic in the Park. But the sun came out for us and much food and cricket was enjoyed!

And then yesterday, what a day! Our LGBTQ+ group went to York Pride and had an absolute blast! The parade in particular , with so many people taking part and coming to watch, felt like a very special thing to be a part of.

Weekly Round Up:

We were a little quieter on the Youth side this week at YMCA Ripon this week, while we prepare for next half term and the summer.

Picnic in the Park is next Thursday (28th) at Spa Park from 2pm until 4pm . At our lunch pop-up this week we were taking requests for food and activities (and we now know what Blue Takis are )

Warmer has meant cricket aplenty at Pop-Up Cafe this week 🏏

Next week half term brings Young Leader Training on Tuesday, Picnic and LGBTQ+ group on Thursday, and our trip to York Pride on Saturday!

If you’re aged 13 to 17 and want to learn important life skills, access great opportunities, and make a difference in your community, join us from 11 am until 3pm at YMCA hall (5 Water Skellgate)

The session is free and lunch and snacks are provided.
