Ripon Cathedral has two fantastic Silent Disco events taking place on Friday 23rd October for you to enjoy. Bring the family along for a fun-filled disco where everyone can choose their own soundtrack and make special memories together or join the Adults-Only Silent Disco at 9pm for a night of dancing with friends.

With the cathedral as your dance floor, it’s a night not to be missed! Last few tickets remaining, so gather your family and friends and book your tickets today.

Something spooky is coming to Ripon this October – and best of all, it’s completely FREE! 👻🎃👻🎃

Starting this coming Friday (23rd October) and brought to you by our team here at Visit Ripon & Ripon BID, why not take part in our Sir Squashalot’s Pumpkin Trail taking place around Ripon city centre from 23rd–30th October!

Find the hidden pumpkins in shop windows, discover fun facts and complete the trail for a visit to the Pop-Up Pumpkin Patch in Ripon Market Square on Friday 30th October, 10am–2pm. Meet the friendly Scarecrow, snap a photo and choose a pumpkin to take home! Trail sheets are available from participating businesses and the Ripon BID office at 8 Westgate from the 23rd October. A completed trail sheet is required to access the Pumpkin Patch and children must be accompanied by a responsible adult

Ripon’s Annual Green Fair is back TODAY, Saturday 17th October! Brought to you by Ripon Together, this free community event is a great opportunity to discover how small changes can make a big difference to your home, your community and the environment. Taking place from 10am to 3pm at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall, Victoria Grove, Ripon, HG4 1LG, this free community event is packed with ideas, inspiration and practical tips for a greener future.

Meet local organisations, farmers, producers and community groups, discover ways to save money on energy bills, reduce waste, support local businesses and protect wildlife, and enjoy a programme of talks and demonstrations throughout the day. Whether you’re keen to live more sustainably, discover what’s happening in your local community or simply pick up a few useful ideas, there’s something for everyone.

Come along, discover what Ripon has to offer and find out how small changes can make a positive difference. With free admission, it’s a great opportunity to connect with local groups, gather ideas and explore ways to support a greener future. Everyone welcome!

⛳Kids can enjoy free mini golf at Ripon Spa Gardens every Friday, thanks to a lovely local business, while CAFE in the PARK stays open until 4.30pm until October half term.

⭐The wonderful Ripon Cathedral hosts a Reflective Stained Glass Walk with Geoff Ashton on Saturday 17th October, exploring the stories and symbolism behind three fascinating memorial windows. Walks take place at 9.30am and 11.10am, lasting 45 minutes, with a suggested £5 donation. .

👻Frightwater Valley returns to Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park this Saturday with scare mazes, live shows, discos, fancy dress competitions and 35+ rides and attractions! Running on Saturday 17th October and selected dates throughout October, with Early Bird tickets just £18pp using code FRIGHT18.

🎤Britpop fans, get ready! Top of the Britpops are bringing the biggest hits of the ’90s to the Black Bull, Ripon on Saturday 17th October from 9pm. Expect classic anthems, singalongs and plenty of nostalgia. Free entry – gather your friends and get ready for a brilliant night of Britpop!

The Little Truckle located in The Arcade Ripon is getting ready to welcome a special guest as part of this year’s Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival 🧀

On Saturday 10th October, cheese lovers will have the chance to meet Sally Hatton from Stonebeck Cheese and discover more about the people and passion behind their much loved Yorkshire Dales cheese. From 11.30am until 3pm, visitors can pop into The Little Truckle to hear more about how the delicious cheeses are made, meet the maker herself and enjoy some tasty samples along the way.

It’s a lovely opportunity to find out more about the cheesemakers behind some of Yorkshire’s much-loved local produce, all while enjoying a visit to The Little Truckle in the heart of Ripon!

Kids can enjoy free mini golf at Ripon Spa Gardens every Friday thanks to a lovely local business! There’s something for the grown-ups too, with CAFE in the PARK staying open until 4.30pm on Fridays until October half term.

Sit back with a coffee, enjoy a slice of cake or treat yourself to something from the licensed bar while the kids tee off at mini golf - why not make a Friday of it!

⭐Fountains by Floodlight returns to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, National Trust on Friday 9th October, bringing the abbey to life after dark from 5pm to 8pm. Visitors can explore the glowing ruins, enjoy live choral music, guided twilight tours and street food with new projected animations bringing the abbey’s history to life across the stonework. Tickets must be pre-booked. National Trust and English Heritage members go free, with adult tickets £12 and children aged 5–17 £6. Find out more and book tickets on the National Trust website.

🐷Schwein Fest returns to The Portly Pig Ripon on Saturday 10th October for an afternoon of German-inspired food, music and fun from 12pm – 10pm. Norton's Deli Riponwill be serving authentic bratwurst from 12pm–7pm, followed by Bavarian music from Ripon City Soul from 4pm and Bavarian b**r on tap all day.

🎤The wonderful The South Lodge Ripon is hosting a Motown & Soul Night on Saturday 10th October, with an evening of classic sounds and live entertainment.Live entertainment will take place from 8.30pm to 10.30pm, followed by Motown favourites playing until late.

Pokémon fans can discover a special adventure at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, National Trust this October!

As part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration, The Pikachu Art Adventure invites visitors to discover 30 Pikachu cards, each brought to life by a different illustrator, uncover fun facts about the iconic character and design their own Pikachu trading card.

Visitors can pick up a Gallery Sheet at admissions and follow the trail through the bird hide and down to Fountains Mill, ticking off each piece of artwork along the way. Once all 30 Pikachu cards have been found, they can head to the Mill and use the Pikachu stamper to complete their Gallery Sheet.

There’s no need to book and there’s nothing extra to pay, with the adventure included as part of normal admission.

Make a day of it this October and see how many Pikachu cards can be discovered along the way! ⭐
