What’s on in Ripon this Bank Holiday weekend? There’s plenty to choose from! Here’s just a taste of what’s happening, with even more events at visitripon.co.uk/events.

💙Enjoy a fun filled day courtesy of Ripon City Council on Saturday 29th August between 12pm - 5pm. Enjoy FREE fairground rides, a football shootout, disco, bubble magic, face painting, balloon modelling and character walkabouts. That’s not all — children can also enjoy FREE popcorn and candy floss too (while stocks last).

🏖️Head to Westgate from 3pm till late on Saturday 29th August as the Black Swan Ripon is hosting their Summer Beach Party. Expect good vibes, cold drinks and hot tunes from DJ Hirsty!

🎉Make the most of the Bank Holiday weekend with an unforgettable day of family fun at Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park! The response to our Ripon BID Summer Trail - Walter’s Whippet Walk, has been absolutely fantastic! ⭐🐾🎉

The prize draw is now complete and four lucky winners will each receive a wonderful prize from some brilliant businesses, including Ripon Scenic Cruises, Portofino, Next and The Little Ripon Bookshop.

A huge congratulations to our winners Finlay, Rosalie, Jonah and Isla – we hope you enjoy your prizes! A massive thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the trail such a success.

Ripon City Council is bringing their wonderful Children’s Fun Day to the Market Square on Saturday 29th August between 10am–5pm and EVERYTHING is completely FREE!

Enjoy FREE fairground rides, a football shootout, disco, bubble magic, face painting, balloon modelling and character walkabouts. That’s not all — children can also enjoy FREE popcorn and candy floss too (while stocks last).

From exciting events and plenty of family-friendly activities to great places to eat, explore and make memories together, Ripon has everything you need for a brilliant family day out this ban holiday weekend!

National Burger Day is coming to Ripon this week!

On Thursday 27th August, Storehouse Kitchen on North Street is celebrating with a tempting selection of mouth-watering burger specials alongside its usual menu. And because one day simply isn’t enough, the burger specials will be available throughout the Bank Holiday weekend too, with options available for both lunch and dinner.

Calling all Pokémon fans! This summer, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, National Trust is the place to be as Pokémon joins the National Trust's Summer of Play for an unforgettable family adventure.

From 18th July to 6th September, families can head to the Ball Games Field to discover exciting Pokémon zones, search for Mega Evolution Pokémon, complete fun outdoor challenges and collect Mega Evolution stickers along the way. It's the perfect opportunity for Pokémon fans, both new and old, to swap screens for the great outdoors and enjoy an adventure together.

Alongside the Pokémon activities, there's even more family fun to enjoy, including soft archery, space hopper racing, balance bikes and plenty of games in the circus tents. A fantastic day out just a short drive from Ripon, with Summer of Play included in standard admission.

SUPER SUMMER SATURDAY IS HERE!

Ripon Market Square is the place to be TODAY! (Saturday 22nd August). Families can enjoy a brilliant day of FREE activities and entertainment right in the heart of the city.

⭐ Calling all adventurers! The climbing wall is ready and waiting for anyone brave enough to take on the challenge. Ripon BID’s FREE climbing wall will be open from 10am–4pm.

⭐ Little ones can get creative with FREE face painting from Ripon BID at the Cabman’s Shelter from 10am–3pm

⭐There will also be a craft tent from 10am–3pm from the team at Rascals Entertainment, while visitors can enjoy traditional Morris dancing from 12pm–2.30pm - both courtesy of Ripon City Council .

It’s a great opportunity to bring the family into Ripon, enjoy the FREE activities and make the most of the summer sunshine. Why not explore the historic streets, browse the independent shops, grab a bite to eat or enjoy a coffee while you’re here?

Make a day of it in Ripon this Saturday!

Looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend? Head to Ripon on Saturday 22nd August and enjoy a Super Summer Saturday packed with FREE family activities in the Market Square.

Challenge the family to Ripon BID’s FREE climbing wall, running from 10am–4pm, or let the little ones get creative with FREE face painting at the Cabman’s Shelter from 10am–3pm. There’s also plenty more to enjoy, with a craft tent from 10am–3pm and traditional Morris dancing from 12pm–2.30pm, thanks to Ripon City Council.

With plenty to see and do, it’s the perfect excuse to spend a summer day exploring Ripon. Wander through the city’s historic streets, discover independent shops, stop for lunch or a coffee and enjoy everything Ripon has to offer.
