Reeth Memorial Hall

Reeth Memorial Hall Public hall, a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. It can also be hired privately for functions, weekend conferences, day courses, craft fairs etc.

The Memorial Hall is used by local groups for meetings and classes and for annual events such as the Swaledale Marathon & Swaledale Festival. A regular programme of music & theatre performances organised by the Management Committee raises money for the support of the Hall and other groups such as the Reeth Artyfacts and the Brass Band hold their own fund raising events there. Full details of what’s on, what’s available and how to hire the Hall are regularly updated on the website.

Nashville comes to Swaledale on Saturday, June 27, when local country music quintet Dixon County perform at Reeth Memorial Hall.
The band’s formation followed Teesdale based performer Dixon J Scott’s untimely death in 2020; Dixon County are committed to keeping his name and his music alive, being extremely proud to feature a selection of his original songs in their shows.
The band was initiated in 2021 by drummer and percussionist Roger Jones, well known for his work with Blue Horizon, White Line Fever, and Dixon J Scott’s Ridge Riders.
Joining Roger are lead vocalist Sue Parks, Rob Hall guitar, mandolin and vocals, Jeff Brown bass and Dox Docherty guitars and vocals.
The result is an all-live and kicking country band with not a backing track in sight. They perform a broad mix of country songs spanning the decades and guaranteed to get you dancing.
Tickets are £14 in advance (£16 on the door) and under 16s are half price; on sale at Reeth Post Office or contact Glen Steward 01748-884989, email: [email protected] (please note that this is the correct email address, there's a typo on the poster). Proceeds are in aid of hall funds. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Our next music event at the hall is A Night of Nashville presented by Dixon County. Songs performed from the greats of the country scene.

Expect lots of hits performed without a backing track in place. This is a seated show but please bring your dancing shoes, for what promises to be a very fun evening.

Another superb night of live music with The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican . There were a lot of genuine belly laughs in the room for the guys.

Thanks to Scenicview Gallery as ever for this superb shot and capturing the night in pictures and words so well.

A highlight was seeing Dave do his thing right in front of Kathy. I don't think she knew where to look 🕺

We do it all over again in three weeks time with Over the Moon on May 22nd.
