This week the Biker Down Team welcomed Mersyside Fire Cadets for a course to celebrate National Cadet Week. This was a special evening as Assistant Chief Fire Officer Samantha Pink attended to present an award to a cadet who had previously attended one of our courses. Lewis had been on holiday with his family and had come across a 'Biker Down' and had lept into action managing the scene and administered casualty care! Well Done!

Today is World Mental Health Day! One of the key elements of the Incident Management Module is 'looking after yourself' following an incident. We promote how important 'self care' is and promote many charities such as Mental Health Motorbike Andys Man Club Blackpool Samaritans to name but a few!

Before you ride this season …

If your motorbike has been sitting in the garage over winter, take a few minutes to check it over before heading out.

And don’t forget your kit , dress for the slide, not the ride.

(Visual Description: Two members of staff speak directly to the camera discussing key safety checks to carry out on a motorbike before riding after winter storage, ahead of the biking season. They also highlight the importance of wearing appropriate protective gear, reinforcing the message “dress for the slide, not the ride.”)
