IMPORTANT BOOK EXCHANGE (BEX) UPDATE!

Good afternoon everyone, this is an important update on the planned relocation of the BEX facility.

Due to the fact that a Section 80 Demolition Order has already been issued by Fylde Borough Council, we are unfortunately having to close our current building (next to Foodie Fusion on Lytham Road) sooner than planned.
Also due to an ill-timed roof leak at our new home in the Portakabin (at Chequers Social Club car park on Harbour Lane), we are unable to move straight into that building until remedial works are done so the refurbishment can be completed.

This means that after we close this Sat at 1pm, we will be closed for approx 3 weeks until the facility can be reopened in our new location.
Please note that this is completely out of our control & is sadly unavoidable due to the above circumstances.

We will still be open:
TODAY - WED 9 SEP - 2:30pm to 4:30pm (Beth).
FRI 11 SEP - 9am to 11am. (Ken).
SAT 12 SEP - 11am to 1pm. (Steph - me).

Folk are very welcome to take extra books & jigsaws, to tide them over while we are closed for approx 3 weeks. Please feel free to pop in on more than one day if you would like, to make sure you have enough to last you through the closure period.

We would ask if you have any donations for us just now, if you have room to hold on to them until we reopen, that would be greatly appreciated. If not we will take them as usual, however the less we have to box up & move, the better just now, as I'm sure you can all appreciate.

Thank you all for your understanding & patience while we transition across to our new home & I will keep you updated on the progress. If you would pass on this information to as many folk as you can, to spread the word, especially to those not on Facebook.
I will put up notices on both buildings asap.

I will be there on Saturday for the last day in our current home. If you are passing or calling in it would be lovely to see as many folk as possible for these last 3 openings there, to show how much support we have for our wonderful community resource 😁

Happy Bank Holiday everyone! 😀
Just to let you know, we are open as usual today on BH Monday, as we are on all Bank Holidays!
Come down & find a fabulous book or jigsaw to spend the rest of your day with. Bliss 😊

We are still at the existing location on Lytham Road, (next to Foodie Fusion) for a while yet, lots of work still to do on the new Portakabin before the move can take place. Watch this face, we'll update further as we go along & advise when the move will happen.

This is a 30 second timelapse summary drone video, of the new BEX Portakabin building, being sited at Chequers Social Club yesterday.
Amazing crane work from the truck & all went very smoothly.
I will update as we go along with the refurbishment folks 😊

Phase 1 completed yesterday 🎉with the temporary building delivered & now in situ at the rear of Chequers Social Club's car park.
Delivery was done without any issues & now the work will start on the refurbishment of the PortaKabin. She's a bit of an ugly duckling at the moment, but we will get her looking lovely very soon 💖😍
I'll keep you all updated as to the progress & once that's completed, the moving date.

Today is the exciting first step to our Book Exchange move! 😃
Our new temporary home arriving! 🎉
We are expecting it early this afternoon, all the way from York with an es**rt vehicle 🛻
It will be sited at the rear of Chequers car park & then the work starts to transform it into our new Bryning with Warton Book Exchange 📖
If you are around early afternoon keep an eye out for it coming down Lytham Road (Freckleton direction), then on to Harbour Lane and on to Chequers.
We will be videoing this last leg of the journey & will upload it asap for you all to watch.
We'll update more as work progresses in the next few weeks & advise when we move.
See you at Chequers if you come out to watch!
