🖤 A Thank You From Kirkham Juniors 🖤

The club committee would just like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who gave Andrew (Andy) Lawrenson a minute’s applause this weekend.

It’s been a very difficult weekend for everyone at Kirkham Juniors, but we have been inundated with wonderful messages of support, kind words and lots of clips from across the local football community.

Andy even sent us a bit of everything this weekend — wind, rain and sunshine — because he knows that’s exactly what Wes wanted for the pitch! 🌧️☀️💨

And then, as if he wanted to remind us all he was still watching over us, he sent us all a rainbow. 🌈🖤

It means an incredible amount to Andy’s family and everyone at Kirkham Juniors to see just how much love and respect there is for Andy.

We have received so many clips, and we will share them with you all when the time is right.

Thank you all once again for remembering Andy and showing your support. 🖤

⚽️ KJFC Yellows U9s First Ever League Game⚽️

A rather soggy start to the morning saw the Yellows take to the pitch in some unexpected rain 🌧️, but thankfully the weather gods decided we’d earned some sunshine for the second half☀️

The boys and girls certainly didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits, and the first half got off to a flying start. Our captain for the day Leo grabbed a couple of goals to get the team going 👏🏻

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – ALEX 🏆

A thoroughly deserved award for Alex today. Not only did he bag a fantastic hat-trick, but his work rate was absolutely superb. Playing up front but still constantly dropping back to help the defence, he seemed to be everywhere! A brilliant all-round performance. 👏

👏 A MASSIVE well done to every single player today. The effort, teamwork and attitude from everyone was fantastic, and they should all be really proud of themselves.

U13 Yellows 🟡

Great first game of the season !

Before the game both teams observed the one minute applause beautifully for Andy ❤️

Everyone was straight to it . Some players playing out of position but no complaints from anyone, everyone playing for each other and some fantastic passing and encouragement.

We came away with a 7-0 win Goals - Big Jenson , Lil Jenson , Rico , Charlie and Oliver Hatrick. ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Clean sheet for Sam 👏🏻

🏆 Player of the match went to Stan for none stop work rate , getting stuck in with tackles that he used to shy away from and some great passing ! It’s good to be back and to be the first team to start off the season at Coronation Road the pitch is looking amazing !!!!

A tough opening game for U12 reds against a strong Poulton side. Goals from Freddie B, Jack, Toby and Noah.

Managers player was split between Freddie B and Lucas for their efforts in defence and some unreal saves. Coaches player went to Vaughn for a great effort in the midfield 🔵⚽️

U10 Reds 🔴

We played some really good football in the first half, moving the ball around well and creating plenty of chances, we just couldn’t quite find that final touch in front of goal. Once we found our rhythm, the boys really took control of the game.

Some great goals spread around the team today, with special mentions for Arthur and Isaac, who both played really well. 🙌🏻

🏆 This week’s trophy went to Oliver — he worked incredibly hard throughout with some great passing and link-up play, as well as getting himself a couple of goals! 👏🏻⚽️

We moved people around quite a bit today but every single one of them adapted brilliantly and did fantastic. A huge thank you to all the boys who stepped up and had a go in goal to help cover — really appreciated!

Well done all! 🙌🏻👏🏻⚽️🥅

⚽ Opening Game of the Season ⚽️

What a way to kick off the new season! After a slightly rusty first half, the team found themselves 2–0 down at the break due to some unfortunate luck.

But what a response in the second half! The football was fantastic, with the team showing great character, confidence and determination to fight their way back into the game.

Birthday girl Vada scored a brace, putting in a fantastic second-half performance to earn the Parents’ Player of the Match award.

Managers’ Player of the Match went to Will, who showed real leadership at the back, leading by example and putting in a confident defensive display and some game saving tackles.

A brilliant comeback from all the kids and plenty of positives to take into the next game. Well done, everyone! 👏⚽ UTMW!
