Last week, the Mayor of Penwortham, Cllr Tracey Flannery, visited the monthly mini-market at Priory Lane Community Centre.

The Mayor and the Mayor Consort, Cllr James Flannery, met with organiser and trader, Rachel Whittingham, and all the various stall-holders who bring the mini-market to life.

Held on the 3rd Tuesday of most calendar months, the mini-market is a great place to get everything from toys to skincare, clothes, jewellery, bird boxes, wooden crafts and artwork.

Plus, the community library is always open, where you can browse the shelves for a good read. A brew and a nice sit down are also freely available!

Last week, the Deputy Mayor of Penwortham, Cllr Robert Taylor, visited the "In The Frame" fundraising group.

Cllr Taylor and the Deputy Mayoress, Susan Taylor, attended In The Frame's regular Monday workshop session at Priory Lane Community Centre. They met with the principal organisers, Peter Frankish and Janet Wignall, and the team of volunteers.

The group reframes new and old art with recycled picture frames, and creates all sort of other arts and crafts, to raise money for St Catherine's Hospice, Lancashire.

Penwortham Town Council provide the space at Priory Lane, for In The Frame to carry out their practical work. But they are always on the look-out for more storage space! If you could donate a dry, secure space to store their stock, please get in touch.🔒

Artistic folk who could donate pieces for sale, and woodworkers who could lend their skills, are always in demand, too. 🎨

And if you have a community group and are looking for a guest speaker, Peter has a great tale to tell about how In The Frame got up and running. 🎤

If you can help in any of these ways, please email the Town Council, and we will put you in touch: [email protected]

Following the Penwortham Gala, we have a number of lost property items that were handed in.

If you have lost something, please email [email protected] with a description of the item you have lost. We will do our best to match it with the items we have and return it to its rightful owner.

Thank you.
