A huge congratulations to Soren, aged just 15, who recently completed a gruelling challenge in under 24 hours, raising an amazing £987 for Willowbrook Hospice – exceeding his fundraising target of £500!
Despite facing unexpected road closures in the Lake District and having to walk an extra 8km to reach the start of Scafell Pike, Soren and his team persevered. Out of 11 participants, only four successfully completed the challenge, including one teacher, making Soren's achievement even more remarkable as the youngest member of the group and a Year 10 student.
Soren chose to support Willowbrook Hospice in memory of his Nan, who sadly passed away from cancer three years ago, and his Grandad, who passed away from cancer ten years ago. Both played a huge role in his life, and he wanted to support a local charity that helps families facing similar experiences.
Everyone at Willowbrook is incredibly grateful for Soren's dedication, determination and generosity. He should be extremely proud of what he has achieved, and we are honoured that he chose to support our hospice.
