RAINHILL - PLEASE READ!

A dispersal order is in place across parts of Rainhill from 4pm Friday until 4pm Sunday.

Police have extra powers to ask people involved in, or likely to be involved in, antisocial behaviour to leave the area.

If formally directed to leave, you could be told not to return for up to 48 hours.

Being young or meeting your mates doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong! We know most young people just want somewhere safe to spend time with friends.

Please make sensible choices, don’t get dragged into trouble and look after each other. 🧡

🧡 Important Update; Reach @ 4F Centre

Following the announcement of a dispersal order across Rainhill this weekend, we have made the decision not to open our Friday evening youth sessions at the 4F Centre tomorrow (16 October).

Throughout this week, our youth workers have engaged with many young people we already know, alongside some new faces from outside the Rainhill area.

Given the current circumstances, we believe temporarily closing the centre is the most responsible decision, particularly as we don’t want young people travelling into Rainhill or potentially being affected by the dispersal order when leaving our sessions.

We understand the concerns of local residents and fully support efforts to tackle antisocial behaviour and keep our community safe.

At the same time, we recognise the importance of positive youth engagement and ensuring young people feel supported, particularly during challenging periods. This is a TEMPORARY decision, and we expect our normal Friday sessions to resume next week.

Our SEND Coffee, Stay & Play is back this October, and we’re getting into the Halloween spirit! 🧡

Join us for a relaxed, friendly afternoon of sensory fun, play and connection with a little Halloween magic thrown in! ✨

💙 A chance to meet and connect with other SEND families
👻 A welcoming, inclusive space where children can explore and play at their own pace.

🧙‍♀️ Fancy dress is welcome, but absolutely not expected! We know that costumes aren’t for everyone.

Our sessions are designed to be relaxed and inclusive, with no expectations or pressure to join in. Children and young people are free to explore and participate in whatever way feels comfortable for them.

🧡 A message to young people in Rainhill.

What happened at Rainhill Station last night was incredibly dangerous. What might seem like a laugh in the moment could have devastating consequences.

One decision can change your life, or somebody else’s, forever.

We know being young isn’t always easy. We understand boredom, frustration and peer pressure. But putting yourself or others at risk is never the answer.

At Reach, we’re not here to judge or lecture you. We’re here because we care about you, believe in you and want you to have the future you deserve.

If your mates are doing something dangerous, be brave enough to speak up or walk away.

You matter. Your future matters. And you belong in this community.

We’ll keep showing up, listening and supporting you. That’s our promise. 🧡

🧡 Extra Youth Work in Rainhill This Week

Following the incidents of anti-social behaviour in Rainhill over the weekend, Reach will be increasing our detached youth work sessions in the area this week.

Our youth workers will be out and about, chatting with young people, offering support and encouraging them to make positive choices.

We completely understand the concerns of local residents. Throwing fireworks, intimidating people and putting others at risk is not acceptable, and we certainly don’t condone this behaviour.

However, we also believe that simply moving young people on isn’t always the answer.

By getting out into the community, spending time with young people and building positive relationships, we can better understand what’s going on and hopefully prevent situations from escalating.

🧡 We’re here to support young people, not excuse unacceptable behaviour.

🧡 We want to work alongside residents, police and other local organisations.

🧡 Most importantly, we want Rainhill to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Young people are part of our community too, and we believe they can be part of making it better.

We’ll be out and about this week doing what we do best — getting to know young people, listening and offering support where it’s needed.

🚲 **FREE BIKE SKILLS COURSE – STARTING IN OCTOBER!** 🚲

Are you aged **18–21** and not currently in employment or education? Looking for something practical, different, and useful that could help you take your next step?

The **Earlestown Cycle Project**, working in partnership with **Rebuild with Hope Foundation** and **Liverpool City Region**, is offering a **FREE 5-day bike skills course**.

🔧 Learn how to **fix, service, and maintain bikes**
🛠️ Develop practical and transferable skills
💪 Build confidence and independence.
🤝 Meet new people and work as part of a team.
🚲 **Keep a free bike at the end of the course!**

You don't need to be an experienced cyclist or know anything about bike mechanics. The course is designed to give you practical experience, new skills, and the confidence to use them.

**The course starts in October**, with places available for eligible 18–21-year-olds.

🧡A little change of plans tonight; but Reach is still out and about!

Unfortunately, due to staff illness, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close our usual Friday youth session at the 4F Centre this evening.

But that doesn’t mean we’re taking the night off! 🙌

We’ll have 3 of our Detached Youth Workers out across Rainhill from 6pm–9pm, catching up with young people, offering support and making sure we’re still visible and available in our community.

Youth work doesn’t just happen inside four walls, and whilst we’re disappointed not to open the centre tonight, we’re looking forward to getting out and meeting young people where they are! 💙

Need mental health support? A new local website offers a simple place to start 🤝

This Friday at the 4F Centre 💙🧡

We’re asking our young people, families and staff to help us support the local warm coat, toiletries and food bank collections taking place in Rainhill this autumn.

If you’re coming to Friday Youth Club and are able to, please bring along one item to donate. Staff will be bringing donations too.

Useful items include:

* long-life milk or juice
* cereal, biscuits, snacks and tinned food
* pasta, rice and noodles
* toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste
* toilet rolls
* new underwear
* clean, good-condition winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves

There is absolutely no pressure to bring anything ; everyone is still just as welcome.

We just want to keep encouraging our young people to be part of village life and show that small acts of kindness can make a real difference locally.

We’ll collect everything together at the 4F Centre and make sure it gets passed on to the organisers.
