Capeli Cymru are welcoming visitors to come and explore this special building on 11 November between 1 and 7pm.
If you have memories to share, old photographs tucked away in an album, or any chapel-related memorabilia, we’d love to see them.
Every story helps to build the picture of Capel Rhondda’s past and future.

COFIO: We are collecting memories of Capel Rhondda, atgofion of Tre | Hopkins | town...
..collecting stories of cariad and heartache, of ysgol and work, of hiraeth and joy.

As part of our Bara’r Nefoedd project with Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales, we would love to invite anyone with a connection to Capel Rhondda or the surrounding area to come and join artist and storyteller, Stephen Hanks to sit down yn y capel for a chat, a cuppa and maybe even a sweet treat of pice ar y maen (welsh cakes).

Maybe you were married yn y capel, or you met your cariad outside the Spar, or used to be drwg and get told off for running through the lanes behind the houses before buying pop at Lina and Pat's… we’d love to hear your stories.

These will be one-to-one conversations and you could chat in Cymraeg or English, so drop us a DM or email [email protected] to arrange a date and time.

Ymwelwyr o i Capel Rhondda heddiw.

Rydym mor hapus i gydweithio gyda myfyrwyr o brifysgol Cardiff Met eto eleni.

Bydd gan y myfyrwyr o Gymru, Lloegr, Ffrainc ac Yr Almaen 6 wythnos i ymateb i 'briff' o drawsffurfio cyn gapel y Bedyddwyr er mwyn creu gofod sy'n addas ar gyfer perfformiadau tra'n ymateb i ofynion y gymuned leol a dathlu treftadaeth yr adeilad.

Ein gobaith yw cynnal arddangosfa o waith y myfyrwyr yn yr ardal cyn diwedd y flwyddyn.

We welcomed 2nd year Interior Architecture students, as well as a handful of visiting students from France and Germany, to Capel Rhondda today.

We're delighted to be working in partnership with for the 2nd time, giving students the opportunity to work on a live project.

They'll have 6 weeks to respond to the brief of transforming the former Baptist chapel into a space suitable for perfornances which also meets the needs of the local community and celebrates the building's heritage.

We hope to hold an exhibition of students' designs in the local area later in the year.

Diweddariad. Yn well byth, nid oedd y côr stopiodd i ganu tu allan i'r capel heddiw ar ei ben ei hun. Roedd cynulleidfa yn cerdded gyda nhw!

“Dyna dwi'n ei alw'n Dref Diwylliant! Côr sy'n mynd heibio yn stopio i ganu y tu allan i'ch drws ffrynt! Do’n ni ddim yn gwybod dim byd am hyn nes i ni weld y fideo.”

Update! Better still, it wasn't just a passing choir stopping to sing outside Capel Rhondda today but one which brought its own walking audience along with it!
