โ„น๏ธ Suitable for all. This is a non-verbal performance. There are moments of loud sound to build suspense.

Step out of signal and into a rare temperate rainforest in the heart of West Wales. When the mobile network suddenly fails, panic takes hold, screens freeze and the world abruptly disconnects. In the stillness that follows, we pause, breathe and notice something magical beginning to stir. A living landscape inhabited by native fungi, insects, birds and mammals, where the rhythms of nature connect. Beneath our feet, vast networks of mycelium weave through the roots of ancient trees quietly pulsing with communication.

Pleth blends movement, foley sound and visual storytelling with an evocative use of BSL, inviting audiences into a rich, immersive world where the delicate balance of the forest comes to life.

Please be aware, important carriageway repairs will be undertaken this Sunday in Town Centre, requiring a road closure across several streets during the day-time.

These emergency works will require a closure to sections of Taff Street, Mill Street and Market Street, and the entire length of High Street โ€“ as shown on this map: https://orlo.uk/RBqaF

The works will take place on Sunday, June 14 โ€“ from 8am to 4pm. All town centre footways and accesses will remain open for pedestrians. This includes access being maintained to all premises, with businesses able to open for their usual Sunday hours. Access will also be maintained for emergency services.

An alternative route for vehicles, from the northern side of the closure, is via Crossbrook Street, Gelliwastad Road, Catherine Street and Sardis Road.

Please note, vehicular access to premises will be allowed as far as the northern junction of Taff Street with Market Street. These vehicles will then be able to proceed via Market Street and Church Street, resuming the alternative route. These access arrangements are also shown on the map linked above.

Thanks in advance for the community for your cooperation.

Did you know that the bandstand in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park celebrates its centenary year in July 2026.

Added in 1926, the bandstand โ€“ with a conical red tiled roof and iron piers and railings, is the focus of the park. Surrounded by seasonal flower beds it reflects the more traditional Victorian view that the type of recreation on offer should be more focused on culture and be more rational than physical. Over time, the bandstand has become a focal point in the park, with regular events and activities and used for wedding photos.

Canolfan Calon Taf & Rhondda Cynon Taf Council have arranged Centenary celebrations this year with live music and workshops at the bandstand on the 24th July 3pm - 7pm please do come along and join in the celebrations!
